Smooth Trigger G17 3rd Gen

Hi there,

I recently got a great deal on a used LNIB Glock 17 3rd gen. After I got it home I noticed it has a smooth faced trigger rather than the normal serrated.

Is this definitely an aftermarket mod or did any of the 3rd gen Glocks come like this? It's a USA made Glock, if that matters.

Is there any way to tell if internal parts are OEM?

Thanks for any info.

Less than full size OEM Glocks in all calibers come with a grooved trigger face.

Full-size and larger OEM Glocks in all calibers come with a smooth trigger face.

I replace all my 9mm/40S&W Glock serrated triggers with Gen 3 G17 smooth trigger trigger bars. The serrated triggers hurt my fingers after extended range sessions. I have a G42 smooth trigger bar trigger on order for my G43, I can't wait to swap that one next. My compect 45acp/10mm Glocks get the smooth trigger trigger bar from the G21 also. The serrated "target trigger" is added for import law restrictions only no other reason. Watch the video if your interested in learning why these guns would be illegal to import without the serrated target trigger, it's very interesting.
