I have not seen this posted, so maybe it is not widely known.

My LGS called me to tell me of a SmithWalther PPK recall. This involves a decocker issue, which can lead to firing of the round in the chamber. I have no further info. But I DO have a phone number:

855.774.8527

You need your PPK's serial number, and the rep will tell you if the pistol is on the recall list.

And for the purist, I am using PPK to include PPK/s.

I don't know the range of S/Ns being recalled. My XXX3BAP was not on the list.

Yeah, sent mine in a few years back. Took a bit for the turn around, but the recall was new then and I imagine a lot of guns were being serviced.

Interesting...my LGS called two days ago, he was just made aware of the recall. He was calling those he knew who had PPKs.

So I am passing current info as I know it. My LGS is a good, reputable shop.

So, if Smith is manufacturing the PPK "under license from Walther" -as my PPK/S says it is, does Smith have permission to tinker with the design?

Doesn't "under license" mean Smith may produce the PPK, but to Walther specs without deviation?? :dunno:

Depends on the terms of the specific licensing agreement, and what the licensor and the licensee desire.

S&W continues to make the PPK PPK/S models for Walther to sell in the US at the request of Walther.
