Got a WASR with the Magpul stock. Currently using the Russian nylon sling setup and after taking a rifle training course over the weekend I can say I really don’t like the sling setup. What are you guys using? Was considering the Blue Force 2 point with the quick adjustment options so I can adjust the tension easier.

Show me some of your setups if possible. Thanks in advance

“Slide glide options”???

2 point sling- yes. Quick adjust (modern) types are exponentially helpful if one knows how to use them.

I just go w/ a 511 2pt sling.

I hope you’re not talking about this one above.

compare to this one:

I’m not gonna study the blue falcon or blue alpha gear but at a quick glance it doesn’t look better than the 511 one.

someone effectively using their sling is going to want quick one hand cinch/ loosen. I do know the 511 one does that. Although I don’t go for padded slings myself (their non padded one was out of stock)

No problem.

Here’s another link. This is the one I was looking for on 511 site

This is what I like.

some people get hung up on “padded” slings. To me they’re overrated. Esp if one is wearing actual armor…but then again, some people don’t like the finger grooves in glocks. To each their own

I’ve been using a magpul sling that I picked up years ago, it migrates from rifle to rifle with the quick detach clips.

On the AK a lot of times I’ll put a heavy duty key ring on the sling mounts and attach the sling directly to it that way. I’ve used that setup for years without any issues

If you want simple sling mounts for the AK or any rifle, you can tie loops of paracord, and attach to those loops from your slings. If it is going to be around anything that gets hot, then use a loop of kevlar cord in that spot. You don't need $20 tactical sling mounts.

Here is an example demonstrated by Rob Ski of AKOU:

I put a Hungarian sling for a few years but I wanted some more versital if I have to carry it. The Hungarian sling is fine for slinging on my shoulder. I got a Blue Force Gear AK sling instead.
