Fellow GTers,
Let me start by saying my EDC is a Glock36 loaded with HSTs. I have been looking for the smallest 9mm I can conceal for those times when my G36 is too big. I have an .380 LCP for those situations but I really feel undergunned with the .380. I want a 9mm to fill that role and I had pretty much settled on the G43. Doing my research, I have found that the P365 is smaller and also holds 4 more rounds which is significant. However, I am very familiar with Glocks and reliability is my number one concern for a carry pistol. I learned that the Sig had issues early on but those seem to have been ironed out.
The point here is to get the smallest 9mm I can conceal. I already have a PPS that I like but is is too large for deep concealment...
Opinions?

In all fairness I am quite biased. I shoot and carry a 43. I’d suggest the 43 just based on platform familiarity. When I tried a 365, it was nice but I wasn’t ready to switch platforms. I know Glocks in and out. That’s big for me. The 365 has a lot going for it to be sure, capacity for one. However I think capacity in a carry gun is overrated. Carrying a 36 you understand this. Bottom line, you won’t make a bad choice between the two, I’m sure. That said, I think the better choice is the 43.

I like glocks. I shoot them pretty well. Not really fond of the 43. That does not mean i would not like it or shoot it well. But I just really like the G26 better. I had a 43 I bought new. I sold it. Both guns you are looking at are very good guns. Find a range near you that has both and compare them. Fitment is important. But keep in mind that different guns shoot different, even the same exact gun make, and model. One could be supurb, the next one off the line a dud. The 365 now has the bugs worked out. I'm even on the look out for a used one. For the used gun price. For what its worth?

I shoot the 43 pretty well. Somehow that little handle works well with my hand. I already have a G43 and an going to keep it, but if I was looking for a new BUG, the SIG 365 is the one I'd get! Either one would work well, but that SIG is a slick little gun and has much greater ammo capacity.

Between the Glock and sig I would choose the Glock. I have never been a fan of sig firearms, not saying they are bad I just don’t like them personally. I was in the market for a micro 9 as I’m getting older and just want the lightest easiest small pistol to pack that I could shoot well. I do not have any places close that I can shoot before I buy so I have to just go on feel in the hand and read reviews and go from there. I handled the 365 and didn’t like it. Handled the Glock 43 and 43 x and liked them better than the sig but I purchased a hellcat. I like the way it felt better in my hand. Have had great luck with other sa pistols in the past and no reservations with the hellcat. I got the osp model and as I don’t have plans to add a red dot, I can if I want. I like the sights on the hellcat and mag capacity is outstanding for such a small package.

I like a fat gun to grip because small pistols are really hard to shoot well under stress. I eventually sold my G36 and went thru the same thing but regretted it all. I never warmed up to the 365 so sold it. Had 26/27 too and still think these sub compacts is better. Got nice Sig P938 in a trade but still not warming up to it either so it's days are numbered unlike maybe I find 27/36 to trade for it and wouldn't hesitate one minute to do so. I did try out a 43 but it doesn't fit my big hands too well. My Kahr P45 is always on my side.

Had both, I ended up sticking with the G43. I do have a bias toward Glocks. I love the simplicity and parts availability. My 365 arrived with a DOA front sight. It had some traits that were warning signs (striker drag and scratches on the magazines) but I never had a mechanical issue with it. Sig did the first round of upgrades on it when they replaced the front sight.

I lost confidence in it and traded it in. For me I'm confident with the G43 as a pocket gun. If you want reliability stick with Glock. If you want something even smaller look at the Kahr CM9. I had a couple and never had a problem with them but you have to break them in. I just never liked the long trigger pull and that the mags would lose rounds easily.

Now I am currently battling between the 365XL and the G43X for IWB. There are features I like in both models. Problem is I can't go to the range to truly battle it out.

The 365 is a much softer recoiling gun than the G43 if you haven't shot both yet.

I am with Spartan. I carry G17/4 and two spare magazines, of late. I am leaning towards the G43X and a few Shield Arms 15 round magazines (Definitely worth the extra expense).
I just like the Glock Format.

Not an easy choice by any stretch. I’ve got both, and the 43x. I tend to go back and forth. With warmer weather coming, I’ve got a hunch the P365 is going to make it back into the EDC rotation.

I also personally like the 15 round magazines, but recognize they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.

If I had to choose it would be the Glock. Primarily because all of my other self defense handguns are Glock and I see no reason to throw an oddball into the mix.

I did look at a P365 when they first came out, but was not at all impressed.

Ever since the P365 came out, the 43 has kind of lost its reason for existence. I think the basic design of the P365 is better with it's higher capacity, and the P365 line is more versatile, with the XL models, the SAS models, the manual safety model, etc.. It also seems that whatever teething problems the SIG had at release have been definitively corrected.

It took Glock years to answer the Shield with the G43. If the 43X was Glock's answer to the P365, it was pretty weak. Glock really needs to get out a 10+ round gun that is the same size as the current 43.

I own the 43, P365, and hellcat. I have the P365 in my pocket if I don't have my 1911 on my hip. That said, I agree with several others who have said find a range that rents them both and shoot them and decide what you shoot better and what feels better in your hand.
