I've found a P229E2 at a decent price and am wanting to buy. From googling it, the weapon is supposed to have the SRT trigger. It doesn't feel like the SRT, and the LGS says it doesn't have it. Not sure what is going on. Could it have been sent without it? The weapon is NIB, and is definitely the E2 from looking at it. Thoughts?

It should have the short reset trigger. Look at the number on the box and see if it list it like this one.

Ok thanks! That helps. Its $899 NIB w/o SRT. I found an enhanced Elite NIB for $909 shipped. I want the SRT and slim line grips so have to decide if its easier to buy the elite shipped and put on grips or the E2 and swap triggers.

It should have the short reset trigger and what sig considers a more ergonomic grip. Sig also makes a short reach trigger which sets farther back in the trigger guard for people with smaller hands. The one shown shouldn't have the short reach trigger.

I love mine, it's my favorite colder weather carry. The E2 grips feel like they were made for me. They don't all come with the SRT. Mine came basic without it. DA/SA model, basic with night sights. Fantastic weapon, you will love it. Got mine during the last gun grab even during the frenzy it was mispriced at Cabelas for $745. Schwinngggg. You'll love it.

deleted--sorry wrong info

The P229 with E2 grip has the short (thin) trigger, not SRT.

The P229 Elite has short trigger and SRT, and custom grips (not E2).

The P229 Enhanced Elite has short trigger and SRT, and E2 grips.

BTW, the SRT is a trigger system, not a trigger. Changing to the SRT from a standard trigger system is not swapping triggers.

While it won't replace my G19 as my carry, the P229 is the Cats *****. Mine came with E2 grips and a short trigger. I installed the SRT and Hogue G10 grips. Works better in my hand. I may carry it when I find the right holster. No disappointments with the Sig.

Im wondering how well it will carry in a Broomeland with FBI forward cant. I have a feeling it will work pretty well.

Nice pistol! Lost of folks bash the DA/SA platform as outdated and unshootable. The real problem is finding an instructor who knows how to TEACH the platform. In truth, there are few guns as shootable as a SIG DA/SA with a SRT.

My guess is that a fair number of people who bash the DA/SA pistols and especially the Sigs are also people who do not have them, and at least subconsciously question whatever guns they decided to buy.

Variety is the spice of life. More trigger systems is a good thing. But, the DA/SA isn't going away any time soon.
