Hi Everyone, I am considering selling my LWRC M6IC-SPR to fund the purchase of a Sig MCX. I was just looking to get some input. Would love to hear from anybody who has hands on experience with the MCX.

The reason I am considering the swap is that my LWRC is 14.5" pinned to 16" so I can't use it with my suppressor unless I send it off to have the flash hider cut off and have a Specwar FH pinned. I am reluctant to do so because I am afraid of what it would cost me to replace the barrel of the LWRC if it is damaged in the process. The second reason is I would much prefer the lighter weight of the MCX opposed to the LWRC. Finally, I know it may seem a bit cheesy but, I really like the ability to fold the stock on the MCX.

Would I be a fool to sell the LWRC for an MCX? For those about to say, keep the LWRC and buy the MCX, it just isn't in the cards right now.

If you want something accurate and commonality of parts is important, keep the LWRC. If you want a folding stock, but not that accurate and proprietary parts, get the sig.

I have a sig 556 and 716, and I regret both being 1st gen. The fitment is sloppy on the 556, and the 716 was just a heavy sob, with proprietary parts. Neither of them are as accurate as any of my actual AR15/10 platform rifles.

From what I have read, the MCX seems reasonably accurate (~1MOA). Have you heard otherwise? I admit buying a first gen from Sig is a little unnerving. They have certainly had their fair share of teething issues.

First thought: get a SCAR. Both SCAR models can be had in the $2100-2700 range. The low end for a used one, the high end for NIB. They have a folding stock. Mine don't have a shoulder thing that goes up but I'm sure it's available.

Second thought: the Sig looks interesting but I still like a SCAR for piston 5.56 with folding stock.

Do you have a regular old DI AR already?

Haven't heard of accuracy issues but I've lost faith in sig. I want an mpx but am holding off

I have both Sig and LWRC piston rifles and both have done well. It depends on what you want to do with it and what is most important to you.

I had a REPR with a 20" barrel. I wanted a shorter barrel length and when it came time to get one, I looked at getting another shorter upper for my REPR or getting an entire rifle like the 716 with a shorter barrel.

The REPR 16" upper was more expensive than the Sig 716 and only had two gas port positions while the REPR in the configuration I originally bought it in had a four position gas port. The Sig had a four position gas port. Pricewise, I could get an entire rifle for the cost of just the LWRC REPR upper. So I chose the Sig.

The Sig is accurate and the action is remarkably similar to the LWRC. So similar that Sig got sued and had to settle. The only feature I miss is the side mounted bolt handle a la FAL.

I'm sure somewhere there is a discussion about which is better between the two.

Go with what works best for you.
