I would go with the Spikes. It is a quality midlength rifle which can be had from places like Primary Arms for $850. I am happy with my Spikes stuff and the fit/finish and quality of parts are very good.

If you take the time to actually read his posts, you would see he's NOT a fanboy at all. He appears to be someone who knows his firearms and owns many different makes and models. Not one of those guys that need a "cool" looking gun in their safe to show their buddies.

No matter how many times people explain it, some of you will never understand that certain rifles are battle proven, quality firearms that will run. It's not about what it looks like or how pretty it is. An AR is not an AR from manufacturer to manufacturer. Those of you who think that way don't have any idea what you are talking about.
I did read his posts. Childish rubbish and satire is what they mostly consist of. Along with the use of the smilies. You see that with the fanboys quite often. Can't make any kind of factual valid discussion, so goes all smart arse fanboy. Along with comical fanboy statements like "slop is built into the TDP", making excuses for slop. No slop is there because of stacking of tolerances. Actually look at the lower, upper and takedown pin tolerances on the blueprints and you will see it.

Not every AR is equal there is no doubt about it. Just like there is no doubt Colts fit and finish is not up par with many other rifles on the market.(some cheaper) I will agree that the important part is the rifle functions however some people prefer better fit and finish on a $1k rifle. But the TDP preaching Colt fanboys just make excuses and lack the ability to have kind of valid conversation about it. The vast majority of them cannot grasp or comprehend what is in the TDP anyway, they just keep on preaching the same garbage that is preached throughout gun forums across the WWW. As a result we end with constant threads just like this one.
