An earlier thread discussed what most LEO's carried in a given area. What about private security guards. In Florida until relatively recently such guards could carry .38 or .357 revolvers, loaded with specific .38 ammo. Now 9mm or the revolver option is allowed. Because the guards have to pay for their own weapons a gunshop owner that offers special prices for recent grads of security guard courses says his top seller is still a plain Taurus revolver, followed by Taurus autos. The guards I usually see at the banks wear either revolvers or older steel Smiths.
