Ok so I found this for sale for 200. I know nothing about the maker so I am hitting up the GT brain trust. This if for a friend of mine as a wedding gift. She has MP experience and I know she is looking for something like this. So is it worth it or should I pay more for something else?

Shield. Same price. No brainer.
This! My father and brother both bough SCCY’s. I don’t think there’s been an issue free magazine run through either one.

Have one as a truck gun, and have had zero problems with the gun itself.

I did have one of the 4 mags I bought for it that would not feed reliably, but determined the problem was the feed lip had gotten bent inward a bit. 15 seconds with a pair of pliers and problem solved.

Yes, it has a long, heavy trigger, but for a carry gun I prefer that to a striker fired trigger, especially for a gun with no manual safety.

Long story short is "No, I would not buy it"

Owned one and long story short, they bought it back from me (to their credit, they were under no obligation to do so)

This was ~3 years ago, maybe something changed, hopefully

If you want a range toy, curiosity experiment, great, but don't rely on for SD

fishhunt You know I don't pick firearms for ladys or any one but ME but your should know that do to my last post so I will not attempt to tell you what Your wife might like as a Purse gun . Purse carry is not liked by my wife and girls . My wife has a nice carry purse but after a couple try's its back to being a normal purse and he pistol is back on her hip .

One thing that's not been mentioned is how the gun is intended to be carried. In summer, I pocket carry. Will not use a striker-fired gun as don't want a discharge while pulling it out. General carry is a S&W Bodyguard (due to lighter weight). Was carrying a SCCY CP2. Both are double action only and require a long, revolver-type double action pull. Before that carried a S&W 642 revolver. Winter carry in a holster is a Ruger SP101. Woods carry is a 10mm Glock G21. I understand CCW stuff and live in WV where there are nasty critters, with 2 & 4 legs.

That said, the CP2 had issues out of the box. Sent it back, no hassle, and it now works fine. Did a dumb thing and installed a Mcarbo lightened spring set. Screwed up installation of a roll pin; called SCCY and they sent a complete upper kit (pin, extractor, spring). Their service is first-rate.
In service, it's compatible with a Kahr at half the price. If one wants a double action 9mm and is a worry wart, I suggest a Kahr. Otherwise, SCCY's are OK.
