Today at the gun show I gave in to temptation and got a PC9 carbine. Seems to me it needs a red dot sight to be complete.

Any suggestions and experiences would be much appreciated. I would like the mount to co-witness with irons.

Thanks in advance for all the input.

No idea what height cowitness for the Ruger. For red dots I always lean towards Aimpoint. Considering they basically start at the price of the gun, that's not the easiest choice. For cheaper dots I've been impressed by the Vortex Sparc AR and the Holosun 510c. Around $200 and $300 respectively, but look around for black Friday deals.

I don't think you will find a red dot sight that will co-witness with the stock sights on a Ruger PCC 9mm. That is what you have by the way. The Ruger PC9 was discontinued years ago.

Even a micro RDS will mount too high to allow use of the stock sights. You definitely want a micro RDS, not a RDS designed for an AR with a riser that would mount it much higher than you need or want.

The Bushnell TRS-25 is a nice option for an inexpensive RDS. The SIG Romeo 5 is considerably nicer but more expensive. Palmetto State Armory has it on sale right now for $119.99.
