Thinking about picking up an EC9s for summer carry up north, then storing it over the winter, so I don't want to invest a ton of money. In fact, I'll be selling one of my Glock 43s with five magazines to finance the Ruger. Spend the $300+ difference on ammo and IDPA match fees.

A little bit of research reveals that the finish on the slides of the LC9s and EC9s is a different process: blued on the LC9 and some kind of oxide on the EC9. Anyone know the difference in terms of maintenance and wear? My standard MO is to wipe down slides and other external metal parts with a silicone cloth on a regular basis.

Thanks for the input.

I don't know about the difference in maintenance and wear but own the LC9s.

It is blued and the EC9s in black oxide. I also don't care about wear and am happy with the LC9s. I don't like that the sights on the EC9s can't be changed as I've got night sights on my LC9s.

I don't think trading the G43 is a good move.
