They started making the coyote special again... But now it's being made with different graphics and it's not "For Texans Only". Clearly Ruger is cashing in as much as they can. I however got a Ruger LCP Coyote Special Texas Edition or Original edition last year for Christmas. I know people are still looking for the Texas only model; the guy at Carters Country today said people still call a few times a week looking for the Texas Only version. Does anyone know what the value is of the my Coyote Special? How high would you expect it to go over the years? The guy at carters also said he would expect mine's value will go up quite a bit over the next 20 years due to it being a limited edition...

I bought another plain LCP I use when I'm not carrying my G23. The Coyote Special is now safely being stored.

Thanks,

I guess their mad we didnt make them our state gun.

i just picked up a lonestar coyote protection version but its only because it was all they had left. im not into the loop on the back story i guess and im no texan so it really doesnt matter to me.

Governor Perry was jogging and had his dog along. A Coyote attacked the dog and the Governor shot the Coyote with his (Crimson Trace equipped) Ruger LCP. It made the news and Ruger made (I think) 1,000 Coyote Specials.
The gun was instantly hard to get. The local gun store manager told me he had three ordered but didn't know if he would get them. Two were already spoken for and I told him I'd take the last one ($389).

Soon after I saw two gun show dealers had the gun for $500 and sold them pretty quick.

Personally I think it's unethical for Ruger to make a fake "Coyote Special".

If Perry wins the Presidency(doubt it) they would be unvaluable. If not, they just may hold their value until another Governor come out to light in the news using X handgun for X reason.

I agree, the new one will never be worth much according to the local gun collector who I spoke to at another shop. That's just Ruger cashing in. But the original limited edition I have will be worth something. A lot if he becomes president, probably quite a lot years from now because it's rare even if he doesn't make president. I'd never sell it, all my guns go to my kids one day. I'm just curious.
