I just got 500 rounds of American Eagle .45 ACP for my new Glock 21 Gen 4, and 100 rounds of 230gr Federal HSTs. They all have small pistol primers. All the threads I've found talking about small primers in .45 ACP concern how it complicates reloading, but I'm not a reloader and am only concerned about reliability. Is the small primer .45 as reliable as the large primer?
The only thing I could think of is maybe that the large primer might ignite the bigger casing space/more spread out powder more reliably, but that's just speculation.
Since Federal is putting small primers in their Law Enforcement line of .45 ammunition, I would hope they're equally reliable.
