Burris Fastfire 3’s are decent and quite popular for a budget dot.

I use RMR’s and FF3’s and prefer the RMR for quicker dot pick up.

I did have a problem with one FF3 and Burris sent me a new one right away. I also had problems with the Gen 1 RMR’s requiring battery sealing plates, battery tension adjustment and also needing a piece of tape to hold the battery in place.

So nothing is perfect.

Not too worried about carry. I use my g21 for carry.. I was looking into the leupold just wanted to see what every one says.
Yeah - its definitely worth the money, for competitive range use, over cheaper options, IMO... Nice large window makes it a little more forgiving; you won't "lose" the dot as easily - 2.5MOA dot is great for precision shots, yet gets bright enough to pick it up quickly - the glass is pretty clear, easy to change the battery (which is great, because you'll be doing this often) - and it's PLENTY tough to handle whatever you're likely to put it through on the range.

Really, the main reasons I consider it no-good for carry: the painfully stupid single button on/off/brightness control, and no "auto" brightness feature - the battery life is only slight better than cheap optics - difficult to co-witness with irons (depending on the type of pistol; also NBD for a range-gun anyways) - and it's a little big for concealed carry.

YMMV

Thanks for the help.

I added a Vortex Venom to my Gen 4 G-22 using a EGR mount. Shoot it in weekly indoor Action Shooting International (ASI) matches, which are somewhat like lite IDPA matches. Works fine, rarely miss (I'm old and slow). I'm going to have the slide milled in the winter in order to lower the sight a bit. Will not be an issue with the G-34. Temped to get one for my G-23.

I have a couple of different pistols equipped quite a red dot. I also compete almost monthly, I much prefer the DPP with the 7.5moa triangle. I sighted in the tip of the triangle for 25 yards which works great for the longer precise shots that sometimes pop up, and the large triangle I find works great for the closer faster action.
