Usually one can shop Amazon or Brownells, et al. and find what you need pronto with PHOTOS in/out to affirm a good purchase, no returns.

Not so when shopping a range backpack!?!?!?
Can't find a replacement for my range bag, getting too heavy with ammo to lug to indoor range weekly.
Contents:
6x50 round handgun ammo
3 handguns, segregated, padded
eyes pocket
ears pocket
min. legal size paperwork pocket, doubles for extras like a barrel or junk that need another pocket
tools pocket
weatherproof
2 shoulder strap preferred

SOMEONE out there must have a treat made in heaven like this, willing to share their insider tip ....

Look at camera backpacks.

This is a bag made by GPS for the Range. It’s heavy built like a Maxpedition bag, multiple dedicated compartments and will take a ton of abuse. They also make it in a “non-tactical” style. It’s well worth the asking price. PLEASE do yourself a favor and check it out before you purchase anything. I now own 2, one for my wife and 1 for me. They are wonderful for a fun day at the range, a sanctioned shoot, or EDC.

I've got that in the Maxpedition pack. It does hold a ton of gear and is comfortable.

Thanks for this I just can't get any interior photos to suggest it fits my needs as a replacement. Almost got lured into one until I realized they designed all that ammo (the only heavy objects) to sit ON TOP of the guns aligned in vertical hutches = squashed

What's the Glock Talk fascination with backpacks for the range? I've been shooting on civilian ranges since the 80's and nobody carries a backpack. Some people carry some strange, improvised range bags, but never backpacks. Generally, they are more expensive and way less useful for the range, than a real shooting bag.

If you want a "tactical" color (in case you have to run and hide in the weeds during a range visit?) there are plenty. They even come with MOLLE webbing. But having a flat bag that will site on the ground or a table makes more sense.

I like back pack style as well. If you have to stop for errands to or from the range easier to carry around and when you have 4 bags of groceries putting the backpack on leaves your hands free to do other stuff.
I try to stay low profile and simply use a couple of older “ non tactical” packs from EMS ( eastern mountain sports) north face etc, just dump my gear in.

Competitive Edge Dynamics has a good selection of both backpack and standard range bags. Allot of guys use the rolling backpack as well especially when running PCC.

A better solution for carrying targets than they suggest - if you get a backpack with molle is to get a large dump bag (Glock sales one if you want the logo https://store.teamglock.com/accessories/glock-large-drop-pouch.html) it's big enough for a large postal mailing tube to fit in then use a piece of Velcro to hold the top of the tube against the bag - you can carry a lot of targets protected and not rolled as tight.
