It is a mystery what "out of spec" really means. I wonder if Glock is laughing their corporate heads off (or just to appear specialized) and just stamping different numbers or applying different part numbers on the same RSA's . Glock Purists are OCDing their brains out to have "perfect parts".

Given that peeps constantly change and fiddle with their recoil spring rates in several pounds +/- on both sides, and don't seem to have a problem, I will bet a dime that it probably won't make a bit of difference unless you are firing thousands of rounds and keeping track of minute percentages.

If one were truly curious (I'm not that much) and mounted their slides to baggage scales, it would be easy to test recoil spring resistance. I would bet another dime that they only vary by less what we think they do, then say "BFD".

When the Gen4 first came out many G19’s (mine included) were accidentally shipped with G23 guide rods. Glock replaced them free of charge but I expect that caused some problems for some folks. There were a lot of complaints about weak or no ejection at the time.

My first round through the gun failed to eject. After that it ran fine with everything. Glock sent me a new recoil spring assembly and it continued to run perfectly. I did not notice any difference at all except it threw brass a little farther.

Not much of a story really. The G23 part is still in my tool box.

Edit: Glock sent a return envelope for the G23 part but I lost it so here it sits. Maybe I will come into a G23 some day.
