Hey everyone,

I need your advice & info regarding the OD and FDE Glock colors, as well as opinions on my next Glock model.

I have looked at a few of my LGS's this week, and some of the 'OD' models actually look more tan than olive drab. The FDE also looks tan, which is how it should look if I'm correct. I would like it to be more olive drab...what should I be on the lookout for?

In terms of my next purchase...
I'm looking for a 9mm, and I already own a gen 3 26 & 19, both black. I prefer them to be carry guns, so I'm not really interested in the long slide model. Thought I would get an OD (or whatever version is green), maybe a 17 or another gen 3 19.

I would appreciate any advice & opinions you have, and photos are always great! I love GT, and I'm glad I found it.

It would be interesting to see a photo of one with the most recent OD and one of the older OD versions.

I've *heard/read* the older ODs were more green than the recent new run.
Having said that, depending on the lighting, it can look more tan or more green. IIRC, in darker light it look more tan and vice versa.

The FDE is more of a brown colour.

I like the OD better but I always thought that the newer OD Glocks are more green than the old ones.

Picked up an OD 19 gen 4 yesterday. I couldn't believe how hard it was to find, at least locally. My LGS got one in, so I grabbed it.

I'm hoping to play hooky from work soon & hit the range & try it out. My first gen 4. I must admit, I really like the grip without a backstrap!

Thanks for all the comments & advice.

Could be that that the newer ones are more green. I probably got them mixed up. Been a while since I had my OD G27.
I like the OD too. Been trying to find a OD G38 for like a year now. :(

First off, a G17 is a fine choice.

That being said, being an enthusiast of black rifles as well, I often associate Olive Drab and Flat Dark Earth with the colors Magpul uses on their AR furniture. You will not get this color tone with Glock. The OD is more of a pastel green and the FDE is a shade of medium brown. Admittedly when looked at seperately I could see confusion between which color is which, but side by side there is no mistaking the difference in color between the two.

The only difference that I perceive (in OD) is in the lighting. Leave them side by side, they look the same. Put half on one side of the table and the others on the other side of the table and they look different.
