So I ordered one last night. Years ago I had a Colt 9mm AR but during the CLINTON BAN a guy offered me a stupid price and a war issue 1903 Springfield. Anyway I want to build a new toy. PSA says their lower will only fit their 9mm stuff. But according to the modern day Oracle You Tube others say it will fit others, possibly Spinta Precision. PSA is of course out of every other pertinent part I need. I need the bolt and upper.

Thanks.

I just put a different upper on a PSA lower. I think the biggest concern is whether the bolt is made to work with Colt (Uzi) style magazines or Glock magazines, or both (Hybrid). I made sure the bolt was advertised to work with Glock style mags before I ordered. I suppose YMMV, though. I'm just one data point. I made a post about mine just yesterday here.

If it uses glock mags you must use a glock cut BCG
Lots of those made.
Spinta
NFA
Macon
QC10
Rock river
All work in colt pattern lowers
Many are cut for glock mags.

I use a NFA bolt in a dpms receiver on my PSA glock lower.

I believe the PSA 9mm bolt is advertised as a hybrid that will work with either Colt or Glock style lowers.

PSA makes more than 1 kind of 9mm lower (at least 3 or 4) and they don't all fit the same stuff.

If you are getting the PSA Glock magazine lower, which seems like the best idea, by far, over the Colt magazine lowers, then the PSA Hybrid upper and bolt is designed to work with that and the Colt version probably won't, as I understand it.

you'll be fine with another upper. Might even get lucky and get some President's Day Sales this weekend. i'd check QC10, Angstadt Arms, some GT members, and even JoeBobOutfitter (mostly New Frontier Armory stuff) for other components. I would not recommend an NFA bolt though. my firing pin was giving me fits. changed it out to a CMMG pin and all is good. have fun building your AR9. still have to tune my buffer spring a little but its damn fun. always turns a head at the range too.

Look into the spikes st9x buffer. Works well in my set up.

I had the same problem with the NFA bolt.
Also it was machined incorrectly as the back step on the extractor doesn't match the bolt face so the extractor marks up my brass.
I could care less about the brass but the extra stress on the extractor can't be good.

As it is it does shoot well.

I love that AR.

A buddy likes my Colt and has been looking for a PCC. Open to suggestions on a turnkey setup that should run out of the box.

depending on budget you can go with a Sig MPX (proprietary mags) , Angstadt Arms UDP (glock or colt mags), Kriss Vector (glock mags), CZ Scorpion EVO (proprietary mags). but these all start at at least $1,100 and go way up. at least i think so.

Thanks, BB. I'm messing with a Scorp myself. This guy simply loves my Colt, but they are hard to come by and pricey as well. Just stumbled in to mine years ago.
