I guess it's back to the "which is better, 9mm vs 10mm vs 40 cal." discussion.
Oh I'm sure the 'P320 went off by itself' debate still has some life left in it :D

Let's see what happens with the other 99.
Just in case anyone is keeping track, from the article Fastbolt linked above;

This suit is the eighteenth time SIG has successfully defended the P320 in court.

And it should be noted that the two that Sig has lost had nothing to do with a design defect or the pistol being capable of discharging without the trigger being depressed. One was because it didn't have a digus...which it doesn't need. I forget the other one.

More likely was that is what his dime store ambulance chasing lawyer told him is what he would get if he just goes along with "it went off by itself" but when SIG lawyers said FU to him the lawyer said "I am outa here" and the PO was looking at being sued and decided to tell the truth.

Especially if there's the opportunity for a payout in some claim, or cover up an actual ND due to a moment's inattention and mishandling, etc.

Doesn't mean that SIG engineers aren't burning some midnight oil to look for anything they may have missed, though. Ditto holster designers. Ditto 'experts' looking to find a design, materials or manufacturing fault.

Not necessarily a bad thing when it comes to continually trying to make firearms as safe as humanly possible in function and operation.

What is the safety on a P320? What stops the 5-pound trigger from being pulled?

Other striker-fired guns have a trigger blade safety.
Single-action guns have a manual safety.
Double-action guns have a heavy first trigger pull.

Why not carry a 1911 or a BHP with the safety off? What's the difference?

I'm was just joking..I have no idea what the truth of his case is.. there are a lot of alleged ADs... Not NDs... With the 320.... If they are all hoaxes then wow that is some high level lawfare ambulance chasing... And SIG should counter sue...

Well, I posted that link for everyone to read for themselves, to avoid belaboring the obvious. ;)

FWIW, I am NOT a fan of SIG plastic. I knew SIG was looking to design a future flagship line made of plastic to compete with the other companies as plastic had established itself in the market. Especially the LE/Gov market.

The SIG-Pro/SP2022 guns didn't exactly hit the spot the company was likely hoping for, and the hammer-fired P250? Forgetable. The SP-2022 wasn't bad, but I wouldn't have bought one over a classic P-series. Not with my own money.

I also wasn't exactly a fan of the Enhanced DA (DAK) guns when they came out, and felt their TDA 'classic' guns were just fine ... especially once they tightened up their SA trigger recovery with the then-new SRT sear & spring. ;)

I've usually been ambivalent to various plastic. (Yes, even the HK USP and subsequent models. :p) The closest I came to thinking a better idea had come along was the original P99 design, with it's unique design offering. I like it decocked with a DA first shot, and subsequent SA shots, which reveals my appreciation of TDA for a 'working gun'. ;) Then again, as much as I've been a longtime 1911 shooter, and a DA revolver shooter, after having to convert to carrying a then-new S&W 3rd gen gun for work, I came to look at the TDA guns as being a 'thinking man's' choice for a working gun.

Why popcorn time? The officer was like a woman who falsely claimed to have been raped . It hurts the credibility of women who were actually raped. I hope his department goes after him as well as sig.
I was just saying this thread is gonna go on forever. Pissing match, like caliber threads.

Chill, I meant no harm. Certainly nothing like you’re insinuating.
