Have you tried using Mozilla-Firefox 3 as your browser? I recently downloaded it free from Yahoo, and it helped a lot. Better than Internet Explorer. I get faster downloads, and there's not much that goes to my temporary internet files whenever I do a disk cleanup.

For nearly the same price you'll get 3x your present speed, via PLDT MyDSL.
The older relatives who were the original subject of this thread are very
happy with the service, although it took a month from applicaton date to
be set up. They haven't really run into problems yet, so I can't comment
on PLDT's customer service. You can check if your area is under PLDT
DSL coverage.

PLDT MyDSL "Experience" 990, nga sila.
I clocked their connection last time I visited, and it was hitting
1150 d/l and 490 u/l on a heavy-traffic Sunday. Baka naman you
tested your speed:

a. while your OS or some other applications were auto-updating via internet.
b. while you were downloading your favorite episodes of Ugly Betty, lol...
c. while connected via wireless (already mentioned the problems w/ that earlier)

I have PLDT mydsl too, but using the old generation technology.


It can only reach 600kbps at best, which I split among 4 computers using a realtek wifi router.


Ok naman sya kung browse and chat with light DOTA gaming. Pero kung streaming video dapat isa lang ang gumagana

oo nga, i suspected as much, pa reformat ko na nga. kung me virus na kahit updated pa ang antivirus hindi talaga ma "fix" yung problema ano?

kahit pinoyguns hindi ko din ma access.

Never, ever ever ever ever make the mistake of choosing PLDT. Their service sucks BIG TIME.

And the customer service hotline? They are no help 100% of the time. Look at their website, you can't find anywhere the numbers of their exchange offices. Look at the phone directory, nowhere you can find the number of their exchange offices. You are stuck at their hotline numbers which are guaranteed to irritate you. All they do is take your complain, log it and then forget about it. When you ask for the number of their exchange offices, they will not give you anything. When you call directory assistance, they will not give you anything. And if ever they will send you technicians, they are non-IT people who doesn't even know their way around a computer. They are telephone technicians for goodness sake. Not IT people.

PLDT HAS ABSOLUTELY ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

There is one bad habit of PLDT, their internet service mysteriously bogs down during the last 2-3 weeks of December that usually lasts for a week or 2. It has happened for the last 3 consecutive years.

First year ko ito sa PLDT, wala pa namang ganyan...


Yun eh matapos kong sabunin maigi yung PLDT help desk dahil for the first 2 months ng service nila, makupad na signal, paputol-putol pa! Sising-sisi ako at pinalitan ko pa Smartbro ko.


Halos atakihin ako sa puso sa inis. Pero mula nuon, ayos pa naman at wala ng patid ang signal.
