Photos of an actual FBI 19M gun - these are what DLC internals look like...

Hi Folks,
Please understand that, unlike most of the collector guns that I post about, I can offer very few details on this one. No SN, no SN prefix, photos of the label, etc.
A few of these FDE guns (just over 100 IIRC, I have the exact number in my records, but can't recall exactly) were made for the FBI HRT. Only two - this and another - ever left the FBI.
Just to ally any questions, this gun was, of course, obtained 100% legally in every respect.
The SN range is earlier and totally different from any that went to the Glock guys or any others that I've seen.
This is a true FBI gun that went to the FBI.
I'm posting these pics for educational purposes given the confusion over what DLC internals look like, what a real FBI gun is, etc.
As you'll see, the DLC internals are jet black and have a different number than the non-DLC ones. The color is not subtle.
Hope this is useful.

Hey guys...

I should have added that it's not for sale, not even for stupid money. Just posted for educational reference.

they're true nDLC intenals per FBI spec. I'm sure that the wear info is well described. However, unfortunately they don't release any info at all on these internals of the FBI Spec guns.

BTW...

This is the only Glock that I've ever handled that won't go back together unless I push the firing pin safety down and push the FP all the way forward.

I actually called Glock and asked about this. They said that the FBI's Ms are made to tighter tolerances and that this is common with them. They said that the nDLC is to make for a smoother action and for corrosion resistance. That's the most (the only) that anyone there has discussed these with me.

I told them that I'm an LEO (which I am) and that I had an actual FBI M - so at least they'd discuss it.

Yes. GA proof slide, GA "Made in USA" frame.

Glock guy BDSY prefix 19Ms are Austria slides and frames. Great pick up. I never noticed this difference before.

An interesting difference.

Most welcome. I don't know how those details alluded me. Thanks for asking.

I should add...

It's not that a civilian or another can't own one, it's that the distribution is extremely restricted. Anyone who could legally own a pistol can own one, it's a matter of being able to find one.

I've not detail stripped it and I probably will not but as far as I can tell that's it.

Are you sure? Because lord knows I've been known to pay stupid money for Glock things. :)

Awesome pics. Greatly appreciated.

I think that these are a bit different .... just sayin'...

I’m a little surprised the parts appear to be stamped just like the ordinary parts and have that same rough edges. Looking at the edges of the trigger bar fin and the upper edge along the trigger bar shows no effort make them any different except for the coating. I thought they were chamfered.
Does the end of the cruciform/sear face show any effort to make it smooth? That might make for a smoother trigger pull as it drags across the striker tab.

I'd have to look when I have time. I don't think that there was any hand finishing or polishing etc.

The finish was, I'm told by Glock, for both improved function and corrosion resistance.

After reading about this pistol for about the 5th time, in this post. Looking at the last picture in post #8. Those internals look an awful lot like Walter Birdsongs black t finish. FBI swat 1911 springfield armory pistols have that finish. Its a dull finish in sunlight. It does not reflect. It is also self lubricating. So they say. It will wear off but still protect the metal underneath. Makes sense with the "improving the trigger pull"?

It's a four letter prefix. Nothing that I'd consider "unique" per-se, however I've not see the prefix before - not that this means anything. It's also certainly possible that all guns of this prefix were sent directly to the FBI.

Awesome thread. I wonder how many pistols with DLC internals are out in the wild..
There are two FDE ones.

Not sure about the rest. I'd assume that some agents will be able to buy/keep their black ones which, I'd assume, have DLC.

As I noted in another thread, a form member had texted me earlier in the day asking about DLC vs non DLC internals.

I took some photos for him that I figured I might as well share with you guys as well.

Here you can see some more comparison photos between the 19M that I purchase from a glock employee which I'm assuming is the same as the lipsky's guns and the FBI 19M which is the subject of this thread.

Note that the FBI M also has the Georgia mark on the frame and does not have extended slide stops in addition to the other differences which have already been noted.
