Just bought a 27 and looking to try an extender. Wanted to get your opinion on each one since I have not had to buy one before. Also is +1 the same size without it.

Here's the way I see it:
-For situations that call for max concealablilty get a pair of GAP floor plates and add that to the stock 9 rounder.
-For situations that allow for a slightly longer grip to still go well concealed, get a pair of G23 13rounders and add XGrip sleeves. You'll be surprised how little extra length the 13rd mag adds over a 9 rounder with a Pearce extension. Even if you have a short mag with GAP plate in the gun for max concealment, use one of the 13rounders with Xgrip as a spare in your weak side front pocket.

I like Southpaw's advice. I have GAP floorplates on 2 of my 9rd G27 mags right now. On two others, I have Pearce Grip +2 extension. I really like the Pearce Grip exts, however I'm liking what I see with the XGrip and I intend to get at least one of those. I have a G23 with 4 mags, so I can put them to work as needed with the G27. The GAP's are great for quick grip and concealment too.

The X Grip feels great. I have one for my 27 and 30. As far as the 27 goes I have the GAP, Pearce, and the Xgrip. I think with the 27 you should have all for versatility and use what you can. Through in a 33 barrel and you have a lot of options.

Love the gap floor plates.
No pearce grip can help you obtain control like the gap plates

I always felt the gap plates were expensive for what you get. About $20 each which kept me from buying. With that said I hear good think about them.

The x-grip ruins the point of a sub-compact.

The pearce extension is nice, but it will pinch your finger. The sollution to this is to grind off the lip on top. Becareful and take your time. Tape over the area you do not want to grind.

Currently I use the Glock +1 extension (G27) for carry. It has a smooth finish which is ok.

Here is a previous GT discusion on the magazine extension.

You actually get a pair of GAP plates with each 20$ order.

The X grips provide you the opportunity to use 15/13round compact mags as spares.
And, whenever you have some more leeway with your concealed carry (winter clothing, untucked loose shirt etc), you can carry with the longer mag, taking advantage of both the better grip and the extra capacity.

At one time, maybe still, there was a forum member selling sets of GAP floor plates for $18 delivered. His ad was in the buy/sell section of this forum, before the new version was installed. I don't know if he still has an ad or not. I got some of mine from him.

Thanks for the information of Gap Plates. Two for $20 is not a bad price. May give them a try. I am currently happy with the factory glock +1 extension.

I like it when I don't have to type - LOL!

Pearce for concealed carry. X-grip for HD or to put more rounds down range with fewer reloads. I have both and would recommend both.

I have a couple of G19 magazines for my G26 and use X-Grips. I find that I shoot the G26 better with a 10 round magazine than I do with the 15 rounder. I don't know why, but I do. I carry with the 10 round mags and keep it on my nightstand with the 15 round mags for bump in the night.

I have Pearce 2+ and g19 mags with xgrips for my G26.

I use stock 10rnd, Pearce 12rnd, and xgrip 15rnd configurations. They all have their usefulness since they are all different sizes and print differently with different clothing. I sold my g19 thanks to the versatility of the g26.
