I'm going through a true adventure with the P938 9mm. About two years ago, a shooting buddy bought one, which I fired a few times. Wasn't real interested at first, but in some scenarios, it was far more practical then my Colt Government. So last year, while killing time after a heart attack and a stroke, I bought one. NIB, and the first time I tried to fire it, it failed. Broken extractor from the factory. Sig tried to tell me it was a rare problem, which anyone who can read knows is baloney. They sent me a gratis extractor. I repaired if and sold it at the next gun show.
About a month ago, I spotted a SAS model at Impact Guns for $699, two tone, Siglites, wood grips. Bought it, took it out and shot it, half expecting it to blow my hand off. Ate a bunch of different ammunition, was accurate, although a little snappy due to my weakened grip. But I was able to pump round after round through it with no FTF/FTE's. Just needed a nap when I was done.
I am now able to fire about four mags through my Colt Government .45 without resting, but I find myself reaching for the 938 when I'm going out now. Why not? It works without fail, does what I expect it to do with Critical Defense ammo, and I can pattern in a silhouette target at a foot or less, at about thirty feet. That's getting better every day I shoot.
My only complaint with the new Sig is when I went to put a metal trigger into it today, I found red lock tight on the grip screws, and they were a pain in the...... to get off the gun. From the factory? Hmmmmm?
By the way, how many mags came with your NIB P938. I got one 7 rounder with extension. Bought a 2nd, but I think thats a bit cheap for a company like Sig. And believe me, I'm a Sig fan all the way when we're talking P229's, and the P220 Carry Dark Elites. Carried one of each alternately during my last nine years before I retired.
