They used to give them out at GSSF events. Now, they're going for a pretty penny on Gunbroker. I've been trying to get one in each caliber just for the hell of it.

 

Yes, intended as training mags. Pre 94. Seems to be more .40 than 9mm out there.

I bought one and all of my friends that have owned Glocks for years have never seen one. Rarity would be subjective, but the are not common. I understand some trade ins were sold by Glock at GSSF matches many years ago.

 

I’d say they’re just uncommon, not really rare as they pop up all the time in mainly .40

Yep - they work fine. Available in most of the calibers.

 

How much are they if you found them for sale? What was their purpose when they were made?

 

They were range/practice mags. If I remember correctly they were pre 94 and come in 9mm, .40, 10mm and 45acp

A guy I used to shoot w only used them so that his mags were easy to find. He fired countless thousands of rounds through them with no problems at all.

 

They are rare and pricey. I'd like to have a few but can't justify the $100+ sellers often ask. Unlike preban black Glock mags which look like any other common Glock mag to the unacquainted eye the orange Glock mags are obviously unique so people often immediately know they have something that may be valuable because it is rare.

 

I have one. Use it in my regular mix of Glock 9mm magazines. Didn't know they had any special value.

 

I'm currently hunting down a 17 and 19 orange u notch mag to complete that collection and i need all of the mags in orange with a square notch except the G23. These seem to get harder to find as time goes on.

 

I have a bunch of different ones, but never compiled a list to see which ones I'm missing. I'm jealous at how nice and clean DJ's are in those pics.

 

You should compile a list to see what’s missing. I currently have an extra black u notch g21 mag I’m trying to use as trade to get something on my list of what’s missing.

im down to have all the orange u notch mags except the g17 and i have a g23 square notch mag as well. i havent seen any other square notcha mags pop up and havent seen a g17 u notch appear either.

 

I have an orange magazine for my Glock 20. I put a black baseplate on it. I use it to easily identify my heavier bear protection cartridges. I didn't know they were scarce.
