I like it!

Hopefully they will come out with compact and full size versions as well.

They need to get away from trying to build S&W Glocks.

I like my Shield Plus a lot and I look forward to checking out the CSX.

@B C. Where did you come across that picture?

Nevermind, I Googled it.

It appeared on Reddit a few hours before I posted it. Before that, nothing was known about this gun.

The person that posted the pic said it's the size of the Shield Plus, but Shield Plus mags don't work in it.

They’ll be getting money from me for this…

@Deputydave what say you?
Looks to me like the SAO folks are going to be getting themselves another choice, and that's always a good thing. I like it. I'm a hammer-fired guy anyway. Be interesting to see them come out with a DA/SA as well.

And that brings up an interesting consideration. Big companies like S&W, Glock, Sig etc aren't going to be putting money into something that they don't think will sell well. The general line of thinking is that metal, hammer-fired pistols are in the swan-song decline stage. Yet here is a major company introducing a new one. Sig folks are all over metal grip modules for the P320 and P365 line of pistols. So I dunno, maybe S&W and others are looking at this market as a time to pump out some new 'old' designs and they may have some indication it would be a success.

I've said before I'd love a pistol roughly the size of a P365/XL that is hammer-fired, DA/SA with decocker/thumb safety and similar options. This new S&W looks mighty interesting.

Wow, that came out of nowhere. The market is getting more and more crowded.

Wouldn’t that be the job of the firing pin block safety?
If the impact causes the trigger to move to the rear then the firing pin safety is deactivated. Therefore the trigger dingus.

I'd much rather have one in 40 caliber but I love compact single action only guns that can be carried cocked and locked. with 10 and 12 round magazines, the magazines are probably shortened versions of the shield Plus 13 round magazine which means the grip length must be shorter than the shield plus!

This looks to be a very nice gun.

Ooooh! Another small 9mm. This is getting old.
