Figure out if you want to carry IWB or OWB. For IWB I've used the VM2 with great success and I've heard a ton of good things about the MTac. For OWB carry any good pancake style holster is preferred...not only do they hold the gun tight to the body but they have a cant which aids in concealment. For a gun the size of the P2000 you should have no problems using either method as long as the belt/holster is of good quality, I used to carry IWB but mainly now carry OWB if I can as it's more convenient and comfortable. I know RGrizzle makes an affordable pancake holster that works very well that ships fast for custom leather (I have a couple of them), and most of the usual leather makers will have some as well if you want to get in line. Best of luck.

Having carried a gun all my life I have the proverbial bag of 100 holsters that did not work. In fine leather holsters I recommend Kramer horsehide. Having used leather exclusively for many years I have become a very happy Comp-Tac kydex carrier-anything they make is excellent. Bill

Comp-Tac for Kydex, Milt Sparks for leather. There are other good ones, but much pricier.

Forget kydex.

I have to think that the Comptac lovers don't really carry everyday. I've had one complete holster break beyond repair and a couple clips break in the year or so I spent with kydex.

This guy makes all my holsters now.

I prefer leather for IWB. I've tried various kydex IWB holsters and at the end of the day, I am really uncomfortable. I have three leather IWBs for the P2000, but mostly use a Garrity InConspicuous.

Tell me about it.

I carry either my Beretta 92FS or HK P2000 everyday - and I have the same model for each - a comptac pro undercover. I really like the holster(s), and they are thinner than a leather holster can be.

It may seem strange, but because of the longer length of the one for the Beretta - and I've had it longer... I can sometimes forget I am carrying a gun when I have it on. So, I like them.
