Although not a genuine Deutsche-made H&K SP5 this is the cheap American copy of it, the PTR 9 CT. I've shot plenty of rounds through without issue. I think with the way it right now is it's perfect as a little range toy. Very easy to hit a 14" dia. gong at 100 yards. Shoots very well with 147gr subsonic loads too. No issue with flat nosed projectiles neither, surprisingly. Definitely a gun I recommend to newbies. The girls love shooting it as they think it feels like toy and has zero recoil.

Looking at Gunbroker, it still seems kind of pricey for a 9mm PCC. Is that a suppressor or just a barrel "lengthener" to make the stock legal without SBR paperwork?

It does look cool. I have always worried about the reliability.

I could go for the PTR 608 if I found one at a good price.

I much prefer shooting the fixed stock MP5 over the wire collapsible stock.

When did any MP-5 come with a wire stock? Never. you must mean the steel rod and plastic stock. Unless some home made jungle jim stuff.

Yes, it's a YHM R9 w/ tri lug mount. Very snug fit, minimal play. This is a registered sbr.

I have only shot the real deal… not a clone.

But I would venture that the difference in quality is….

if you are going to be shooting thousands and thousands of rounds per year, fast roping out of helicopters, swimming with it in salt water, and generally subjecting it to severe abuse in all kinds of conditions… get an HK.

Otherwise, a clone will be just fine.
