Ha Ha! I remember when I used to feel this way. I absolutely adore the 45acp, but I've become very fond of my 9mm 1911!All 1911s should be 45 ACP.
I agree. My IDPA pistol is a Dan Wesson Specialist in 9mm.Ha Ha! I remember when I used to feel this way. I absolutely adore the 45acp, but I've become very fond of my 9mm 1911!
Remember...early on in the 1911's bloodline, JMB designed the 1900,1902, & the 1903 around the .38acp cartridge. He held the .38acp in very, very high regard. But... the US army raised concerns about the .38acp's stopping power in the Philippine–American War, so they pushed for larger calibers like the .45.
It wasn't until JMB's later design, the 1905, was his automatic pistol chambered in a
.45 caliber- the .45 Rimless. Then came the 1909, 1910, & ultimately the 1911 that were chambered in the famed .45acp
My point is this... the 1911 is no stranger to 9mm-ish sized cartridges. And... the 1911 in 9mm is fun as $h!t to shoot.
And let's not forget the .38 Super 1911 has been around since 1929 and the 9mm 1911 since ... 1953? Both have been produced in the 1911 platform for quite some time now.Ha Ha! I remember when I used to feel this way. I absolutely adore the 45acp, but I've become very fond of my 9mm 1911!

Thanks! It shoots excellently. I posted a separate range report yesterday on it for more detail. In short, it has already become my EDC.Very sweet!
How does it shoot?

Fixed it for you, Uncle Mark. All 1911s should be.4510mm.
I know that people should have a reliable pistol for their every day carry. BUT, God forbid that you ever have to use it. That little beauty could end up being tossed in an evidence box and maybe end up mysteriously getting "misplaced".Thanks! It shoots excellently. I understand. The way I look at it is that if I ever have to use it for that purpose, this gun sitting in an evidence box will be the least of my concerns.I know that people should have a reliable pistol for their every day carry. I concur. If I ever need to use a gun, I want it to be the one I shoot the best, currently a semi custom 1911, waiting on a full custom build. Not saying I won't *****, piss, and moan if it is taken by the police, but I want the best gun on me if I have to shoot.I understand. I did sell two Dan Wesson's to fund this pistol. All of the posts from folks acquiring new high end 1911 has me thinking I need to have a yard sale.
