What a beauty!! Way better condition than we expected. Bore is bright with great rifling. He's going to put a little TLC into the wood. It was made in 1952, the same year my dad was made!

I've never shot one before, so I'm really looking forward to taking it out to the land soon. Can't wait to hear that ping!!

I don't think I've ever seen him so excited for a new gun!

Sweet.

This winter I'm taking the family to the Talladega CMP store where my wife and I are going to each buy a Garand for my 10 year and 5 year old. A lasting memories kind of thing.

I hope you and your dad enjoy that gun together for decades. 🍻

Wow! Nice rifle Josh!
May your dad (and you and Greyson, and his son too!) enjoy it in the very best of health!

🍻

That’s HAWT!!!

Wow! That’s nice!
I really wanted to get my dad a Garand or an M1 carbine but man, the prices and availability.
The best I could do was to make him an M1 carbine look-a-like from a Ruger 10/22 with M1 stock and Tech-sights.
He carried an M1 Garand (and later the carbine) in the early 60s as a paratrooper in the 82nd. When he got out he tried to get an M1 carbine and ended up with a (just introduced) 10/22, which I have now. That one is a safe queen now.

Congratulations on such a cool rifle!
