Thread made me dig mine out. Circa 1992 parting gift from a power plant's operation team. Hardly ever used it, but looks like the brass needs cleaning.

But here is my 1976 112, we'll used and lost it for 9 months in starboard side lower level engine room on SSBN633. I was real happy to find it again.

Buck 110 is a true American classic.👍
I bought mine about 50 years ago. It was my very first "real man's folder knife," compared to those smaller "pocket knives" I had been carrying before that.

I really liked my Folding Hunter and always carried it when camping and hiking. But it felt a bit too big and heavy for everyday carry. So, I switched to slimmer and lighter Gerber FS-II, which was easier to carry. I left my Buck Folding Hunter at my parents' house, but my mother sold it along with other knives at my father's estate sale....😞

My new Buck 110, the Slim Select model, is much lighter and more suitable for pocket carry; but it does not have the nice classic look. I still have my favorite Gerber FS-II's - the straight back blade and the drop point blade.

This thread makes me want to buy another Buck 110, the original model with brass bolster and ebony handle. I don't really need it, but I miss my old classic 110.

The slim model looks really nice! Now you’ve got me thinking I should I look at those. Probably a tad more practical if less iconic. I just want him to carry it every now and again as he gets older and appreciates it. He clips his Spyderco on from time to time. I never say anything but I’m always smiling inside
