Currently I have a:

Beretta Jaguar(.22lr pistol)
Marlin 30-30(lever action hunting gun)
Mossberg 16 gauge(bolt action hunting shotgun)
Remington 597(.22lr semi)
Colt 6920(my baby)
North American Arms .22mag(cool pocket carry revolver)
Glock 23(multi-purpose pistol/EDC gun)
This is how I would have done it starting anew, at your age, with limited funds:

Next Gun:

Buy an AR lower the next time you have an extra $100. SBR it the next time you have an extra $200. THEN worry about all the other pieces. The wait on the stamp won't hurt as bad this way and you open a LOT of doors.

To build depth and avoid FFL fees:

Glock
A threaded 9x19mm conversion barrel for the G23.
A .22 Conversion for the G23.
Night sights if you don't already have them.

AR
A 5.56x45mm upper of your choice for all around use.
A 7.5" or 10.5" 9x19mm upper with mag block and mags of your choice.
A 7.5" or 10.5" .22 LR upper.
A Match/ Precision 5.56x45mm upper with a good optic.

Additional
9x19mm Suppressor
.22 LR Suppressor

Sell all your other guns. You don't need them anymore...

Thank me in 10 years.

I will NEVER sell any of my guns thought. I don't care if they are a POS I will still keep them and buy new ones.
I said that too when I was 21... lol!

You will reach a point where a POS or a spotty performer in terms of accuracy or reliability will be viewed as a "black mark on the collection."

Remember this post when you get there...

If you're anything like me you'll realize you only have so much space and those old crappy guns will start encroaching on that space.
I have what most would consider a large collection and it's a consideration in pretty much everything I do... just like having a pet.

I usually make good decisions, so I have no interest in getting rid of my fine, quality stuff though. I'm also pretty realistic and outside of self defense I don't have strokejob SHTF fantasies.

What I DO have is a "Travel Kit" that I can go on the road with for a long period of time that will meet all my needs for power, speed, accuracy, and overall performace.

What you see above (minus suppressors) is my travel kit. I manage to cram it all into a Pelican 1700 and with a taclight and a few other goodies, it pretty much does anything you can imagine... and better than anything else you can find.
