Mouse gun pinky extensions

My S&W 380 BG came with 5 magazines. One had a 1.25 inch pinky extension. My first thought was that the extension was too long and probably wouldn’t work well with trying to get out of a pocket. However, I decided to try it out and was surprised that it didn’t pose any issue over the smaller extensions or flat magazine. Didn’t seem to print any differently in the pocket either. And it gave me a decent 3-finger grip on the pistol. As a result it was more comfortable to shoot than my LCP. So I decided I’d try the 1.25 inch extension out on the LCP. I might even take off the Hogue Handel grip wrap to see how I like it since it would have a thinner overall feel in the pocket. I say this because the BG, which is about the same size as the LCP overall feels thinner in the pocket than the LCP with Handel. For this type of pistol, thin and light is the goal.

I purchased a 2-pack on Amazon from AmeriGun Club. Looked the same as Garrison.

As far as looks, I didn’t really care for it on the BG originally. But it grew on me. And functionally it works well, for me. So I figure since it doesn’t interfere with my goals for this pistol type I’d try it on the LCP for $10 for a 2-pack.

Anyone have or use any type of pinky extension on your mouse gun?

I have a Peirce +0 extension for my Kahr CM40. It needs it.... a bit wild without it. I had Gap floor plates on my G27. Not really extensions tho, but they did help a little with control. The Kahr is the only two finger grip gun I own now, I went to a G23 full time and dress around it. The Kahr is for lazy days when I have to run an errand and don't feel like getting dressed. I can go to Walmart in my jammies with the kahr in a belly band.

It depends on one's cost-benefit analysis. Do you value the teeny weeny size for easy carry, or a place to rest your pinkie so you can actually hit the target? I tend to go with teeny weeny over pinkie rest, but Dave that does look pretty interesting an I'm going to look at it on Amazon. I'll probably grab one, because I can't say no to this stuff. As it happens, I have an LCP II in my pocket. I was having a little bit of back spasm thing this morning (suppressed rage) and did not want a belt gun.

The little lip of the mag extension does not give a place for Mr. Pinkie to sit, but allows the ring finger to get just a little more purchase. PJ Holster shown.

My first thought when I got the BG was, 'well, that's ugly and I'll never use it'. But then I used it at the range and was pleasantly surprised. I'm mean, it's not a full sized gun, but for a mouse gun it was more than fine. Then my second thought was, 'well, it won't fit in the pocket and even if it did it would likely snag on the way out'. Until I tried it in the pocket and I was able to put my hand in my pocket and pull it out without an issue. Okay, we'' I'm sure it'll print a lot more. Again, until I actually tried it and compared it with the LCP in the pocket of my shorts. I couldn't tell a difference. Now I haven't tried the BG in dress slacks yet, but in regular pants it's surprisingly fine. And the extra bit for a full 3-finger grip was excellent. So for $10 for a 2-pack I figured I'd give it a shot on the LCP and see what I think. I might even try it without the Handal.

Yep, same one I just ordered this morning. Already shipped and will be here tomorrow.

My Beretta Pico is so small that I can only get a 1 finger grip without an extended magazine. The extended is way too long though, giving me a full grip. So I sanded down the extended mag til I could perfectly get a 2 finger grip, and no more. It is so much easier to handle now, but still extremely small and concealable.

Took some pics to demonstrate. The factory extended mag is insanely long, yet doesn't hold anymore rounds. I dremelled it down to get a perfect 2 finger grip, because with the flush mag I can only get 1 finger, and it is hard to shoot as well.

Factory extended:rolleyes:

...and the altered one, how the Beretta should make them

OP - just looking at the pictures I can certainly see how you could get a full grip on the gun, but I also prefer the flush base or small OEM extensionmags on my LCPII. I've got an OEM 7-round mag for it and that seems OK also, especially for a backup mag, but for minimal printing I like the smaller mags.

On the upside, I've found this LCP to be so accurate that I can often place in the top 5-6 shooters out of 30 in BUG matches. I actually think if I didn't also shoot another gun in these matches - and concentrated on the LCP - I might even win a match, even though I'm often the only shooter in the 'hideout' division.

Good luck to you.

They are not for me. I actually like having two fingers on the grip and the pinky curled under. It is a comfortable and secure grip for me. I know others dislike it, but I prefer it over a pinky extension. So, I keep pinky extensions off of my small guns. Whatever works, right?

My "mouse " gun is , was a cm9 kahr . Still have but have not touched it since I retired . Never felt the need to add a pinky extension as all that does is take away from it concealability and not like I'm going to shoot it a lot any how so two fingers on the grips enough for 50 rounds .

Even our m&p9c when my wife carried it was carried with a flat bottom mag and I removed the extension on a mag for my s&w 669 mag so it was flat bottomed . All conceal better that way and I have extended mags for all as back up .

Received the two extensions this afternoon. Put them on and I like them. Will have to see in various pants/shorts pockets which one’s they work with or not. And I’ll need to shoot it as well of course.

I know it will be a non-issue in most of my shorts, I have a wedding to go to later this month so I’ll see how it goes in dress pants.

I run Pearce PG-19 pinky extensions on all my 13 rnd G32 mags, but I tried the long extension the OP picked on one of my P32 mags and didn’t care for it. Better than nothing but if I’m running something that long I’ll just use a hicap mag. I did add the pinky extension NAA uses on their Guardian mags, takes a bit of filing but works like the Gee plate, extends forward and fits between the pinky & ring finger without adding a lot of length.

I'm usually not a fan of pinky extensions, but I run the Ruger 7rnd mag in my LCP and love it. Not only does it give me more purchase, it also give me an extra round. Runs like a top...

While not a mouse gun, I did just order and install the GeePlate for my P365. While I think the price is a little bit high for what you get, I do believe it's money well spent...

I use both the flush fit and the extended magazine on my Kahr CW 380. If I want to pocket carry, which I use less and less, I swap with the two finger flush fit magazine. To me the beauty of the 380 platforms is the thinness of the the slide and grip, not the length, so I find myself using the three finger extended magazine most often. Incidentally, I also installed Magguts+1 in both magazines so my capacity is 7+1 and 8+1.

I had the opportunity to shoot both the LCP and 380 BG with the 1.25 inch extensions. I really liked it. Yes, it makes the pistols bigger but so far in various different shorts I haven’t noticed a meaningful difference as far as comfort, printing or ability to draw either from a pocket. Dress pants may have a different result so we’ll see in a couple of weeks.

As far as shootability both were actually quite pleasant to shoot. I was actually a bit more accurate with the LCP though that is probably due to more trigger time with it. Both were perfectly fine overall.

The extension makes it look somewhat odd of course, but really worked well.
