I'll say at outset that, in steel form, I'm a big fan of the OEM Glock sight picture.

But...can I improve on it? Highly subjective of course, but recently I put Ameri-Glo I-dot orange front with the OEM steel rear on my G19FS. I'm really liking it. Easy to pick up without reading glasses (if you're not post 45 yoa, just give it time :) ), and I like the night capacity. I find the OEM rear picks up a lot of light in low light settings.

Anyone else mix n match front/rear sights?
If so, what did you mix and how well (or not) did you like it?

I actually did the same thing for short period of time with the new 26 I had. But then I went to true glow TFX pro sites because they’re so much brighter in the dark and light up in the day. And I was afraid that in a stressful situation finding one glowing Dot would be harder than aligning three. I went into our walk in closet with total darkness and found I could align the sites much quicker with three dots. Granted, because I also have a laser I’m a pretty good point shooter but I tried to make this as difficult as possible and I didn’t like how easy it was to make me fail.

I guess you could call it mixing and matching, on my target/game guns I like a FO front sight from Dawson and prefer a rear sight from Warren Tactical (also my G35 night stand gun).

I personally think it is fine to mix and match all you want, just make sure you mind the relative heights to they are regulated the way you want them.

Good point about sight height. I made sure to match OEM. Prints groups like a drill.

I do wonder though why more makers, or rather all makers, don't sell piece by piece? Dawson does, Ameri-Glo, a few others. But theres not a whole lot who do.

Would have loved to have used TruGlo TFO front but. ..HATE 3 dot sights and as stated, I wanted Glock OEM rear (+ increased set cost). Slowest design for me is 3 dot.

The irony on the regulation is a few of the more popular "name brand" sets have heights that completely change sight pictures and POI at anything that could be called SD ranges. Guys still love 'em. ;)

On the TFO/TFX, the only thing I don't like about them is the sight radius is shortened as the front sight is REALLY long. On my full sized guns it is less of an issue, but still a factor to contemplate.

I generally am not a major fan of three dot alignment for action shooting, but most recently I started using Glock night sights on my G42 and G43 and really like them. I do a lot of action practice and I shoot both guns pretty well on the clock. Maybe not as well as my G35 when shooting a full course, but a 3 shot Mozambique at say 12yds, not bad.

Some fun.

I run Dawson FO fronts and Heinie rears on a lot of my Glocks for playing games. OP I'd flip the rear and put the white outline forward.
You wouldn't flip to a black rear if you had my 57 year old eyesight.

That sounds like the start of a dirty joke. :)

I also use Dawson front sights, either fiber optic or tritium, with an Ameriglo serrated Pro rear. I prefer the Dawson over the Ameriglo front sights because the Dawson's are serrated.

I use Glock night sight front and steel rear.
I almost went to this, just to stay all OEM, and the dot is same size as non tritium. But I had already ordered the I-dot. After installation, I decided to stay with Ameri-Glo. Works VERY well for me.

But I'd bet the Glock steel tritium would have been just as effective. And a tad cheaper.

Just another view above.

What I like is that it's very fast, light or no, but can be VERY precise if needed.

Just can't seem to get the same precision with 3 dots. Have also used XS but I find the "big dot" to be too big. They are fast though.

I think the pic above gives an indication of precision, if needed, to put a hole in a small area as required.

Just my $.02. YMMV. Thanks for all the input so far.
