Maxim 50 is discontinued? Why?

My first guess would be because they don’t sell enough of them to justify continuing production.

I figured if I read into the thread I could figure out what a Maxim 50 was but couldn’t. I had to search.

So, to be legal, it's a muzzleloader with an integral silencer?

No wonder it doesn't need to be regulated, it's a pretty bad idea.

 

I have no knowledge of the product or the NFA loophole. I just used the Google and copied/pasted a picture.

 

It seemed like an ideal way to take a new hunter out.

I’m still a big fan of mine. I suspect they stopped making it due to lack of interest. It is more complicated to load, given the need for a tube to bypass the baffles. It is great for hunting close to high use areas, so as not to frighten hikers. I did a write up awhile ago.
