Loctite on front sight help?

13K views 55 replies 17 participants last post by  chilipepperman
I have used blue loctite with complete success. My problem is what to use to remove it when changing or reinstalling any screw. Nothing that I have tried works. Removing it from the threads of the screw is a pain, but getting it out of the screw hole is impossible.
Any suggestions?

Happy to hear of another use for Kroll's. I know that bench rest shooters swear that it is the best bore cleaning agent available.
Need to spend the $15.00 for 8 oz. that will last me for the rest of my life.
From a knowledgeable shooter, that advised to hold the sight screw with a pair of forceps/hemostats by the head vertically and apply a small amount of locktite to the bottom third of the threads only. When threaded into the sight it will wick its way continously thru the entire thread. Does not cause hydraulic pressure that could fracture tritium sights. No excess to cleanup.
