Video that covers the differences between the two models.

Video pretty much supports my choice in going with the A300 Ultima Patrol. Seems like the right choice for me. I do question him saying that the 1301 will be more reliable with lower velocity bird shot shells due to the gas system, when the Beretta PM said that the gas system is the same.

He did say that Langdon Tactical will have a LTT A300 Ultima Patrol in the future. I wonder what they will do? Maybe lengthen the forcing cone to try to soften recoil a bit? But he did point out that they can't do too much to it and maintain the price point. Perhaps if this takes off, Magpul will offer a stock that is compatible in the future?

The gas system is the same... the bolt is not but the gas piston is. Confirmed by Ben Grundwerg / Beretta PM in the video at ~4:08 mark. The A300 Outlander also has the same gas piston as the A400 guns, where the older 3xx guns, such as the AL391 have a different piston but the same bolt with single op rod and the rat tail that goes back into the plunger in the stock. The A300 Outlander and newer models are kind of hybrid with the same gas valve of the 400 series, but the older bolt with rat tail.

Interesting because there's conflicting info out there:

"Dina Sanders, brand marketing manager, tactical for Beretta USA, explained, “The largest difference between the 1301 and the A300 Ultima Patrol is the use of the BLINK gas and bolt system in the 1301, this rotating head bolt system is faster, absorbs more recoil and has fewer parts and so is less likely to fail over ...May 1, 2023"

The A300 does not have the rotating bolt and twin op rods that make up the B-Link system. However, the gas piston is the exact same in both guns. This is why I said the gas system is the same. Once you move back from the gas piston to the bolt, that starts to become different, as the A400 and 1301 have the recoil spring in the handguard with a rotating bolt and the A300 guns use the spring in the stock.

When the A300 Outlander first came out, it was referred to as a hybrid between the A400 and the older Berettas because the gas piston was shared between the two, but the bolt and recoil spring system were different.
