Decided to go after one of these, I've been seeing them from several sellers on gunbroker as well as other online stores.

Received it today, still have the 48 hour time tax here in WI, but hopefully in the next few weeks it gets repealed.

So without a pic for now, I have to say that this turned out to be a very good buy.

I paid $450 shipped from a dealer in Indiana. I asked if the gun was new, and was told it was a used gun, but refurbished and in great shape.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but appears to be a refurb gun as the spent casings are dated 4-19-12 but the barrel (with matching KSP serial #) looks brand new. No wear on it at all, nor is there any holster wear or any kind of blemish or sign of use. The barrel actually has shipping grease on it.

It came with two back straps, I think there are supposed to be 4, but one of the 3 mags it came with has the extension so it's a not a bad compromise in my book.

Has all of it's paperwork, manuals, warranty card, cleaning kit, night sights, and blue label box.

The engraving of the Kentucky State Police logo looks cool and is well done. I had read that KSP refused some guns because the engraving wasn't consistent, but no clue if that is true.

I do not know what brand of night sights Glock puts on their guns, but they are glowing brightly.

My FFL guy is a tad jealous as he bought a new G26 for his girlfriend recently, and for the money this is a better deal IMO.

I plan on getting one of the 9mm conversion barrels for it, perhaps the .22 kit at some point, but I have to say if you're looking for a 27, this is a nice package!

sounds like you did well...looking forward to your pics when you post them...GLOCK uses Meprolight tubes in their own branded night sights but can supply other brands as well...

I'm pretty sure the gun is refurbished by Glock, the fired casing envelope says 4-19-12 on it.

That said I believe KSP used these as backup guns so perhaps they didn't get much use.

As I mentioned in the initial post, I had heard (no way to confirm or deny) that KSP wasn't happy with the engraving on the slide, but who knows. I'm no expert on laser engraving but mine looks perfect.

My brother has one each of these KSP GEN4 35 & 27. We talked to a few different troopers and found out why they were on the market already.

Around '02-'03 KSP went to the GEN3 35 & 27. A couple years ago they upgraded to GEN4s. Not long after that they had several complaints with corrosion issues around the rear sight area of the slide. GLOCK was contacted and wanting to keep a good customer happy they agreed to replace all the GEN4s with new ones. Keislers handled the transfer and allowed the troopers to buy back their GEN4s if desired while the rest were unloaded as police trade ins. One of my local dealers had a box full of these for the guys at my local post to buy back.

These are early GEN4 that didnt come with the beavertail backstraps. I also am pretty sure they went from Frankfort to Keislers and that's it, not refurbed, but barely a year or so on duty. Some are even unissued.

Cool, thanks for the info! Mine doesn't appear to have been fired at all, and I can't say I recall seeing any corrosion around the sights so I'll double check when I pick it up.

No worry about the beavertail back straps, it fits my hands perfectly the way it is. I'll get more use out of the extended mag..

Not sure what the exact story with mine is, but I'm sure it'll serve me well.
