I have bought a lot of handguns, never a Kimber. I watched too many malfunction and heard the "Shoot it 500 times with self defense ammo to break it in."

That's some harsh words about the organization that featured a Kimber on the front cover of their monthly magazine. It was the Kimber slotted iceman 1911 thingee. Finally, finally someone offered a 10mm with an ambi-safety out of the box, now if they only figured out that adjustable sights were the way to go for 10mm it might qualify as interesting. Oh, and if it was actually accurate. It's bench rest 25 yard groups were 2.55-3.31". Not bad, but hardly impressive. I have yet to see anyone carry a 1911 10mm as a "combat" pistol, but seems like every manufacturer puts fixed "combat" sights on them. There's always an exception to the rule, but it seems everyone I know, and all the people they know carry a 10mm in the woods, on a trail, or use it for hunting. All the places where accuracy matters. Oh wait there's more, 10mm's run the gamut from 135-220 grains with velocities ranging from 1000-1300+. Hard to believe, but they all don't have the same point of impact. I know, crazy. Adjustable sights would solve that problem. Imagine such an easy solution. Hmmm, hello 10mm manufactures. You listening????? Please stop treating 10mm's like a 9mm carry guns. Please. And Wayne, you need to go. The NRA needs new blood.

I tried a couple Kimbers about ten years ago. Both expensive jam-o-matics.

I would never own a Kimber or a Springer of any description.

I've never liked the Kimber 1911's but I like their K6 357 mag snubbie. I'm glad that putz no longer works for them and hopefully there is no one else like him in the company.

As far as not blaming him for not liking the NRA, there is only one thing wrong with the NRA and that is Wayne La Pierre. And Wayne La Pierre is not the NRA.

Pretty is as pretty does...most of the K's that came to my range had "issues"...I will take my ugly G-19 gen 3 over any Kimber
Hey, I was trying to be nice about it. :)

The former head armorer, who was a whiz with 1911's and had put together some nice ones (saying he'd learned some of his 1911 smithing tricks from Bob Chow many years ago), was willing to put in bench time addressing issues with some Kimbers for our people and a few friends. I just started telling people to call Kimber and let them correct any concerns with their guns. :)

Imagine if more gun companies were suddenly being bought out, or run/managed, by progressive liberal Dems.

Nicely played.

Freedom of expression and speech is still an American virtue, though. I'd rather such folks come right out and express their beliefs, rather than pretend to agree otherwise.

I‘m anti Wayne LaPierre, he’s a tool and has ruined the NRA. Guarantee you Wayne is real happy about Biden winning. Anything to get those coffers filled and get back to big talk, little spitting, and begging for money.

Sad that it hasn't occurred to him (or his wife) that being responsible also includes extending the same courtesy to everyone else, meaning allowing them to choose to act responsibly. Not having their choice taken away from them against their wish, just because someone else wished to define, unilaterally, that "being responsible" and being restricted were synonymous.

Then again, I live in CA ... Sigh.

For a good long time Kimber equated 'overly tight chamber' with Match Accuracy. Add that to the inherent fragility of the Swartz safety--especially when executed from MIM--and you have a recipe for FTF. I would take a Series I or Warrior, have the chamber reamed and be happy. None of the others interest me in the least.

That's like a petroleum products manufacturer extolling the virtues of wind energy. The only rationale I can see in statements like that is (a) Trying to placate the liberal left to reduce their exposure to attack, or (b) It's a reverse psychology sales strategy...sales boom when gun grabbers are in office and they are barely making money with a strong, pro-gun administration in office.

Hum kind of, but there are a lot of large companies, like petro and the one I currently work at that produce a product that is seemingly in conflict with future trends. AKA the green movement. They are ran by money men. Usually the passionate entity that started company X is long gone and the bean counters are in power.

It is what is happening in the back room when they are looking 10-20 years down the road. Either A, grow the company or B change enough to sell off.

Petro has its hands deep in renewable.
My company has its hands deep in everything e-mobility

Think IBM made type writers, but also made pretty good components for the M1s

Kimber (insert any manufacture) can retool and make XYZ if the trend and money is right. Hell, did not Glock start as a shovel company???

Unfortunately, we are in the time of almost everything is driven by profit. Period.

I use to think it was Money and Love (not being crass). But given non-binary, love may be way less than 50% of the equation now. Money Money Money.

WE have one stainless ultra in 9mm that cost new a wopping 740 dollars 3.5 years ago . Yea real expensive !! It has a few thousand rounds thru it zero issues front round one but I do load practice ammo . Its realiable with hst , ranger t series 147gr and 124gr gd too . Its my 65 year old wifes primary carry pistol .

Its easy for some like the OP to report old nothing new news . Remember when some pitched a fit over ruger and springer too . Both still sell very well today . This ryan busse butt heads once proven to be a useless human was removed from kimbers payroll and it does take some time to get rid some one and not end up in court over it . He has been gone a while now . Not current news , its been around a while but then so was has turn coat mind games .

I have not been a fan of NRA in some years . To many guys there making far to good of a living off members and do far to little for it .

Look for your states grass roots group to help at that level and there are far better national pro gun groups to pay your dues to than the NRA . Maybe some here prefer GOA or SAF over the nra .

I just hope during the next election for a president we have a better choice to vote for , not a donny trump type .

Kimbers are expensive to begin with. And then they cost you another $500 before they are safe to carry, due to the number of rounds required for the break in period.

I think the word TWIT describes him completely
