I have been wanting a new range gun in 9mm. Today, at lunchtime I went to my LGS with the intention of buying a used sig p226 legion sao that I saw while I was there last Sunday. Today I saw a new USP expert in 9mm amongst the H&K offerings and made it no further. What a quality pistol, the match trigger feels really good too. Needless to say I purchased it. I hope to get a few hundred rounds through it after work tomorrow. I have had a P30sk and a VP9, both were very good. This seems to be a cut above those in terms of finish..... I see a USPc in my future

HK have very loyal users/owners...German engineering is admirable, I loved the engineering in my old HK MP-5...personally I do not care for their pistols...I think most are over-priced
They’re definitely overpriced, but they’re also over engineered and that’s why I have five of them.

I totally disagree that it’s overpriced. It’s definitely a major step up in quality and performance over most other polymer pistols. That includes HK’s cheaper offerings, which I find quite disappointing.

I managed to get to the range after work and put a couple of hundred rounds through the gun. It is a tack driver. Double action trigger pull is smooth and pretty light. Single action is excellent, crisp and clean break with a good reset. I can't speak for the rest of the line up but to me the USP Expert is every bit a $1200.00 firearm.

USP Expert, beats a 226 Legion, all day long!

Congrats!

You are getting a barrel fitted to the receiver, HK Match Trigger, Adj Steel sights, recoil reduction system. You most likely have the jet funnel and 18 round mags. I think an HK Expert is a great price/performance point at $1200.

Look at a Sig X5/X6 and these use to be ~$2200 +. For that you get a stainless frame, stainless slide, barrel fitted to receiver, adj steel sights, adjustable trigger for length of pull, adjustable trigger for weight, jet funnel, 18 round mags for 9mm, Nill grips. When Sig stopped importing these they doubled in price. Also if you have a problem with one of these Eckenforde Mastershop pistols would you want NH to work on it. NO! You would have to have it sent to Germany or hope Grey Guns can fix it and wait a long time.

H&K has just recently dropped their prices, which is usually indicative of a faulty pricing structure on the front end.

Congrats on your new HK, great pick up. As my aging eyes get older I'm not a fan of the Expert sights but it is still an easy handgun to shoot. Very accurate and we'll made with a nice trigger.
Enjoy and shoot it well.

Thank you, I will be ordering a front night sight. The indoor range that I go to is pretty dimly lit and I've never liked a plain black front post.
