This pistol is similar to a factory custom pistol with some nice features.

While a G19 can use a MRD ( optics) and has a light rail, Glock should look at some of the other features.

Glock Factory Compensator to reduce muzzle flip
Review FN’s low profile optics mounting system with a co-witnessing fiber-optic front sight
Flat faced trigger
Lightening cut slide
Larger ambidextrous slide stops
The jury is still out on TIN coated barrel but it may enhance reliability
Weighted mag base pads could be useful
Oversized mag release
Keep improving the Glock trigger

If Glock copied and improved the enhancements on FN 509 CC Edge on a new G19 at lower cost than FN, they would have quite a pistol. Most if not all of these enhancements are available at a cost from numerous Glock after market suppliers.

The bottom line is that Glock needs to review the FN and make a better G19.

Other than the price, I like the FN 509 CC Edge. Glock needs to do some engineering.

The cost is the single worst problem for sure. I had a Five Seven. It is a fine pistol but in hindsight also overpriced. Along with ammo availability issues, I sold it to a used car dealer in South Houston (Texas) in a rough neighborhood.

I got most of my money back.

I had a Browning HiPower that was bullet proof.

Cost 💲 is the problem, not reliability.

Interesting collection of features.

No mention about whether it still works or not after accidently dropping it in a puddle. It seems like some waterproofing would be a worthwhile upgrade to include.

I disagree, sometimes innovation is overrated. I'd prefer they stay the same, with minor changes.
I want it to go bang when I want it to, be light weight and hit what I’m pointing it at.

Everything else if fluff, Glocks do what I need, unless they don’t. Then I use something else.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Seems to be Glock's unofficial mantra and it's been working for a long time. Innovation is great, but only when it makes a significant difference to the end user. Lots of companies "innovate" right into oblivion. And a lot of companies claim to be innovating when they are actually imitating.

If Glock comes up with a better mousetrap I'm all for it. But change for change's sake is a fools errand. Stick with what works.

I highly agree with this.... most people I see at the range as of lately .... are most interested on how cool it looks than how it performs.....

you're the first person who has a FN CC Edge that admits the actually like it that i have seen.

nothing but bad reviews on the FN Forum about it and most say its not worth the money. i have an LS Edge and wanted to get one but after hearing what others have said, i changed my mind.
What don't you like about it?

I like both the G26 and G19. I would love to see Glock step out of their comfort zone and apply many of the custom features from the factory.
While the gun writers are raving about the FN CC Edge, users are mentioning a number of jamming issues. Glock could fix that and have a sharp upgraded G19 possibly less expensive.
