I think a swinging hammer hits harder than a striker, I have no failures with small rifle primers in hammer fired 9mms, but have heard of misfires in Glocks and such.
And of course it is enclosed so as to not snag in concealed carry; as has been done since about 1903 that I can think of offhand.

The advantage to a squeeze cocker is that the trigger can only be activated by getting a firm enough grip to fully depress the Squeeze cocker, but once you release it, the trigger is disconnected and the gun cannot be fired. It's a very safe mode of carry and totally instinctive to use.
That was not my experience with a P7.
I was taught to get a firing grip immediately I grabbed the butt of the gun. With a P7 that meant I had a cocked, unlocked 3 lb trigger in the holster. Yeah, I know, we all have trigger finger discipline, yak, yak, but it still made me nervous.
I did not find it "instinctive." I had to shoot it at every opportunity AND NOTHING ELSE for a while to get into the manual of arms. I was unwilling to standardize on it, so I sold it.
