I have a Gen 2 Model 21 and want to install a Wolf 24 pound recoil spring which is un-captured. Does anyone an easy way to get the spring installed? The spring came with a guide rod.

It ain't complicated. Put the barrel in the slide, insert the guide rod and spring into the muzzle end, compress the spring as yr placing the guide rod in the notch under the barrel. It will stay put as yr putting the slide back on the frame.
