I read an interesting story where Gaston Glock was personally asked at the SHOT Show in 1999 who he designed his pistol for.
He said that while he was happy to sell his pistol to anyone who could legally own it, he designed it for military personnel and other armed professionals.
When he was asked what he designed it to do, he said, "To be able to hit a man in the chest under adverse conditions at 50 meters, and do it 100% of the time."
Gaston himself never cared that the pistol did not meet the desires of people for whom carrying a gun is a fashion statement.

But how will people know how tactical I really am if I don't flash them my Gucci Glock?

I myself admittedly broke down and joined the Gucci Glock Nation by purchasing a Shadow Systems MR920 a while back and only because I got it for a great price.

Whether a pistol can hit a man in the chest at 50 yards has much more to do with the individual behind the trigger than the gun being used.

Someone mentioned this in another forum I follow and a full on meltdown ensued, Glock vs 1911.

I enjoy 1911s, I love the distinguished look of 1911s and the way the grip feels. But owning 8 1911s and going through the CONSTANT fukery to keep them operating I decided today I’m done using a 1911 for carry. My normally 100% reliable Kimber 10mm took a dump. I’ve never had a malfunction with a Glock that wasn’t law enforcement firearms instructor induced. Never.

The most entertaining part of a Glock vs 1911 debate is Glock ain’t the only pistol head and shoulders above a 1911 in the year of lard 2023. Anyone denying the fact is purely eat up with nostalgia.

Hopefully it doesn’t cost one of them if the ship hits the sand.

he is saying if the Man can do his part, the Glock will perform it's role every time. and it does, more often than lesser Guns... ...
