I’ll be using this one as my primary carry gun. I have a soft spot for CZ’s, and this one just seems perfect, at least for me.

There are just a couple things I’d like to change, however, and I thought I’d try to get the take of the GT Brain Trust.

First, and easiest: The holster. I have a Vedder IWB holster coming. I already own two for another pistol, this was easy.

Grips: Someone had put some sandpaper/plastic kind grips on this one, and I hate ‘em. I’ve ordered a set of standard rubber slabs to replace them.

Sights: All I know is that these suck. I’ll be replacing them with something better.
*****Your suggestions are appreciated!

Trigger: I’ve had worse, but not by much. It’s really not that heavy, but it’s gritty, and it’s screaming for help. Has anyone done a decent trigger kit installation, or cleaned this up in general?
*******I’ve heard CZ’s can be tricky, so I’d love your take.

I know it sounds like I’m picking, but seriously, this little pistol is the cats nuts. I have a Shadow 2, so I know that near perfection is possible with a carry gun. If you’re shopping, do yourself a favor, and check out the CZ line of pistols.

Congrats and great buy. I want a P-01 so bad. I love the size and feel of it.

Congrats!

Recently, I began carrying a P01 Omega with 2 additional magazines. It's not perfect but, its a great gun and an easy shooter.

I ordered some TruGlo TFX Pro sights and hope they will arrive soon. Outside of that I carry it every day in a TT Gunleather IWB that rivals a Milt Sparks. Very happy with that holster...

Grips are next on my list of things to do. I don't hate the rubber grips but I think my Crosscut Lok Grip choice will make it a bit better for me.

Trigger! A few options there really. Either CZ Custom or Cajun if you want the complete work over. They are quite nice. If you're just looking to lighten things up a bit this might be what you're looking for.

You got yourself a very nice carry gun that will serve you very well. I wouldn't try and hotrod it too much if it is going to be an EDC...

Great shooter made greater with a carry trigger kit. It’s not that hard to do yourself, there are lots of videos online detailing install. Just do it on a bench where little parts won’t get lost when they fall out.

I had the P01 done as a carry version of my competition Shadow 2.

If wanted to do cheaply, could just change hammer spring, extended firing pin and firing pin spring. You don’t need a new hammer or other stuff if cost is an issue.

The factory rubberized grips are the best for carry. They may not be the prettiest but you can get a good purchase on the gun with wet hands easily. My P01 trigger is a typical CZ decocker trigger...heavy and gritty. The grittiness gets better after about 100K rounds but CGW trigger kits are worth the money. The decocker trigger mechanisms are more complicated than the safety models but not horrendous to work on. Most CGW kits come with instructions and the slave pin that makes reassembly easier.
I like all of the compact variations that CZ offers. With a great trigger they’re quite accurate. Even with the stock trigger they shoot good.

For additional grip options, if you dont like the rubber ones, LOK grips make amazing thin grips for concealment. I like the Coco-bolos for at the range. They are very fat and work well for larger hands. The thin LOKs just conceal better.

The trigger can and will smooth out with range time, but due to the current lack of ammo, it may be worth getting in line at CGW or CZ customs. Another poster suggested a DIY which is possible. I have a CZ PCR with over 3000 rounds and its very easy to shoot with stock trigger.

Sights: to each their own. The TFX are nice but can be “busy”. I’ll suggest CGW and Dawson precision options. Black rear with tritium front from dawson won’t treat you wrong. The tru glos with U-notch, no fiber, are very nice as well. If you go with Dawson you can easily change the front to suit your needs. The nice part about the p-01 is there are more sight options available versus my PCR.

Very nice pistol! Great pick!

I have the PCR.
Took the rubber grips off as they cling to clothes and it is easy to accidentally expose the gun when carrying. Put some G10 grips on.

For the sights I put nitesiters over the existing dots basically turning it into a 3 dot system with bright white dots.
