HK makes an excellent product. I would contend it is superior to Glock. I’ve bought (3)——an HK P30S .40, a VP9 and and HK45C. All are flawlessly reliable, accurate and danged good shooters——they’re overbuilt.

If you’re a civillian, HK Customer service couldn’t care less. I’ve had two events recently and both were handled or are being handled terribly. How sad. I’m glad I found out so I can prevent others from making the same three mistakes I did.

I’ll stick with my Glocks and being able to call into Customer Service the first time, deal with the issue and then shoot the bull about shooting with a rep for a few seconds versus calling a company that asks top dollar for their product for multiple days and holding 20 to 40 minutes at a time then still not getting anyone.

Now I understand why a clearly better product does not have the presence of Glock or Sig or Beretta in the US. It’s about more than price.

I come from a family of Duck Hunters. I am glad the Beretta family bought Benelli so HK cannot be anywhere near the brand anymore as they were the importers a few years ago. Once, shotguns get long in the tooth, small parts can and will break. I would hate to have to depend upon HK for parts logistics. What a nightmare.

Could you please share your two negative experiences with HKCS? I’ve always found them to be responsive to my needs, issues and helping me (and others I know and speak with) resolve weapons issues quickly and with confidence.
I’ve tried to. I am done. I will find a gunsmith to work with to get the HK45C where it needs to be and never make the same mistake again.

If I owned a sample of three and already had two issues bad enough to be contacting the factory not sure I would be praising the product as flawless at all

Semi automatic automatic pistols are not the Hadron Collider, lot of companies can make a perfectly acceptable one.

Well that's one more to add to the list of handguns not to buy.Let's see, Sig, taurus, HK, Beretta, Kimber,SW probably missing others that owner's have had issues with. Yes Glock still the one to own.CS makes a company and bad CS kills a company.

This is a strange thread. HK is flawlessly reliable and overbuilt, yet 2/3 of them require warranty work and HK won’t stand behind them?

The only problem I have with my HK is they just don’t want to feed. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, as I am following published HK press releases. It’s probably because I suck. And they hate me.

What wrong with the pistol??
Need parts. They are elusive. First attempt, the parts were damaged and I get no response. Tried to call multiple times. Stayed on hold and then they hung up every time. I’ve written it off and bought them elsewhere. I’ve been serving customers 32 years. I know a little about it. Lesson learned.

Their pistols are nice until you need parts.

I tend to buy most of my parts from third parties like HKParts.net and others. Recently I did buy a HK 45C magazine release for my USP .40C direct from HK because all the third parties wanted exorbitant prices. It took three or four weeks to arrive but was way cheaper.

I never carry or shoot my Glocks anymore. My HK, Berreta, CZ, and 3rd Gen S&W’s, get all my attention.

What parts did you need and why? What went wrong with the original parts? Were they defective from the beginning or worn out over time? Could you describe the issue in a little more detail?

That’s a pretty significant issue for a non-1911 platform. One of the reasons I take Glocks to the range most of the time now is that I got tired of the 1911 temperament. And if I did have an issue, I’d certainly want a responsive customer experience!

I've owned one HK in my life, and it was one of those great big .45 military contract like pistols w/o the threaded barrel.
It was a tack driver, had a mediocre trigger, was incredibly heavy but built like a tank. Never had a problem with it and eventually sold it to a workmate.

Glocks wouldn't feed either if they followed HK press release visual instructions.
