How reliable is the Lasermax Guide Rod Laser System?

You hear people talk about Plastic Guide Rods, Stainless Steel Guide Rods, and Tungsten guide and hear all kind of opinions. So I am curious as to how these lasermax systems hold up.

I have no direct knowledge but when I asked at the LGS they all said no way would they risk the performance of their gun with a guide rod laser. Strictly a range toy ? Sure, who cares. But absolutely not with their sd/carry guns.

The one I had was a lasermax and it was junk. Failures to feed from the moment I put it in till when I took it out. Lasermax was NO help either. My advice to anyone thinking about a lasermax product is DON'T DO IT

Had my Lasermax guide rod in my Glock 19G3 for over 12 years and thousands of rounds. No issues. I am very confident in the gun and in fact it is my primary go to gun. The laser is spot on even after all the rounds through it and the countless times I've disassembled/reassemble the gun. The gun feeds well and I've not experience any FTF or FTE. I'll keep on continuing my long term stress test until it does develop an issue other than an occasional battery change.

Maybe the guy that had an issue with the Lasermax guide rod just got a lemon as mine is still rocking my world.

I only have mine for about 4 months and 500 rounds. No FTF, FTE at all and accuracy is great. Target acquisition indoors and low light is far superior to iron IMHO. It has never engaged accidently when holster is used or just in waistband. Roufus
