I know the Secret Service and Tennessee Highway Patrol use it and the Texas Rangers can choose between the 1911a1 in 45acp or the Sig P229 in 357 Sig. I've also heard that the Delaware State Police use the round. Who else carries the 357 Sig? Is there a link I can go to that'll have a list?

State Police:
Delaware Sig P229 (.357Sig)

North Carolina (.357Sig)Went from Beretta Cougar to M&P and now P226
Oklahoma Sig P226R (.357Sig)
Rhode Island Sig P229 (.357Sig)
South Dakota Sig P229 (.357 Sig)
Tennessee Glock 31 (.357Sig)
Texas Sig P229/P226 (.357Sig)
Virginia Sig P229RDAK (.357Sig)
New Mexico state police did at one time...

The Secret Service use the 357Sig - P229
The Air Marshalls use 357Sig - P250
The Social Security's OIG agents use 357Sig

The PA Game commission uses 357Sig - Glock 31
The Southern Ute Police Department And gaming commission used to have - P226 now switched to 9mm

FWIW, Contra Costa SO, CA, recently switched from 357Sig to 9X19; and my old agency issues 9X19 but authorizes 357Sig (my G31).

Availability, cost, and cultural changes (lack of fathers teaching kids to shoot) are main reasons for the rise in popularity of the 9X19.

357Sig remains a great round.

FAMS Are still using the Sig P229 .357 Sig The Contract for the Sig Sauer P250 was never realized, as the pistol didn't hold up well to the constant stress of the .357 Sig cartridge. There is word that the agency may be going to the Sig Sauer P320 in 9mm.
It seems the old adage of what the FBI does...many follow... may be true.
ICE has recently begun issuing 9mm again (Speer Gold Dot 53927) 124 gr +P, for Glock carriers and said they intend to buy Sig Sauer P320's.

What agencies are or aren't carrying the 357 Sig is at this point irrelevant to the private market. With so many variables now such as ammo cost, ease of training and the PC follow the FBI herd mentality, it's now meaningless to private gun owners what the LEA are carrying.

Everyone knows the 357 Sig and 10mm sit atop the auto handgun world. The politics of whose carrying what or not is far removed from handgun performance, which is the only concern for private gun owners.

I've noticed in my handloading data that the 10mm Auto isn't that much ahead of the 357 Sig in ft/lbs of energy with top loads.
