I was looking to upgrade the Vortex Venom on my 34.5 MOS with a Holosun. I have a 507/C-GR X2 on my 45.5 MOS with the factory optic plate. Of course I was convinced the 508 is better because it sits lower and doesn't require upgraded iron sights to co-witness. Then I found out the 508's battery isn't user replaceable. I'm really down on built-in batteries and think I'll go with a 507 instead solely because the battery is user replaceable.

How do you like the green as opposed to the red?

I got a brand new 507C that I haven’t even mounted yet. My astigmatism makes the dot sunburst. Might sell and get a larger single dot or switch to green.

Are you talking about the 508t? If so you can replace the battery via the side tray. You'll need suppressor height sights though. The SCS direct mounts to the MOS slide and has a fixed battery charged by solar. It will co witness with factory height sights.

Yes, the SCS version that sits lower, doesn't require new sights to co-witness but lacks user replaceable battery.

I just got the 507 with the ACSS reticle (chevron and hula hoop ring). I need to mount it but taking some painters tape and putting it on the slide Im already liking it. I really like how the larger ring will guide you to the chevron. If you want to be precise you can use the chevron as intended or use the whole chevron like a larger dot for fast close in. Midway had or has a deal and there was a nice discount.
