I've been a Glock fan for many years (see my join date) and one of the reasons I've always touted for why I like Glocks is that with any solid shaft of 3/32" diameter or thereabouts, I can fully disassemble and reassemble the pistol. It can be a so-called "Glock Tool," or a proper steel pin punch, or even a nail in a desperate situation. Not sure why you'd be doing a full detail strip in a desperate situation, but whatever.

Now I just recently bought a VP9, the new model that's optics-ready, has the 17rd mags. I decided to look into what a detail strip involves on this new piece I've bought.

And, wow it's awesome!! Much better than Glock. And I mean much better! With the Glock, even if it's a simple tool, you do still need a tool for a detail strip.

But with an HK VP9, even better, NO TOOLS!! You just don't detail strip. Ever. Just don't. LOL

Guess I need some brake cleaner.

I have several VP9s and VP9SKs. It’s the Glock killer. It does everything better. Better accuracy, grip, build, trigger... and as you’ve discovered, even the take down is better.
Guess you missed the point. Detail strip is not better.

Anyway, VP9 has been around for years. Glock is still here.

I have gone on a pistol binge over the last couple of yearsand have bought, sold, and rented quite a few different kinds. While the glock may not be the most ergonomic pistol, I still think it is the best designed striker fired pistol out there. Honestly, it's biggest flaw may be that one has to pull the trigger (although there is a way around this) to disassemble it. Given how many idiots there are in the world, maybe that's not a great design.

There are striker fired guns I find more enjoyable to shoot, but I still think the glock has one of the most robust designs.

On the flip side, when I recently got back into TDA pistols, I was surprised at how easy it was to detail strip my sig pistols. It is obviously not glock easy, but not hard at all.

Soli Deo Gloria

I don't know if they are "better", but my Step Son's sure feels good in my hand. It has been very tempting to me.
