Well, I did it again. This time I brought home a HK P30L. It came with night sights, LEM trigger, and three magazines. I actually picked it up a couple days ago but, didn't get a chance to shoot it till today because of overtime at work.

Even today I didnt have much time and it only got a mag put through it. I am not new to HK or even the P30 but this is my first P30L. I have to say I was impressed with the recoil....or should I say lack of.

Ok, it is a 9mm which doesn't have much anyway but after the first shot I thought I might have a squib round due to the lack of anything. To the point I took the pistol apart to check the barrel.

Then walked the 25 yards to look at the target. Sure enough there was the hole. So, I finished out the magazine. It was 124 grain HST rounds. I was very surprised, again, but the lack of recoil.

I really liked the pistol, I didnt take a pic of the target I will later when I have more time and ammo to play with. But it was POA POI. No complaints at all. It was a used gun and well worth the $600 I paid for it. Everything was still in the box even. Here it is on its voyage home from the orphanage.

It is light. I would guess around 4lbs. I like it alot. Gotta get a little more used to it though but just because I haven't messed with it for awhile.

It’s either camera perspective or you’re a huge dude, but you make that pistol look small. Congrats!
I guess it depends on someone's definition of huge. At 6'4" and 285lbs I am bigger than most. I love the weight pile maybe a little too much. Here is a pic of me holding my daughter about a week before winning my gym bench press championship. Wife calls me her big ole teddy bear. By the way I can lay a G26 in the palm of my hand and my fingers still stick out far enough to wrap them around the front of the pistol. Lol

Congrats on the new HK P30L.

I am SIG guy but am planning to purchase a HK pistol someday. I really like the HK45 but I find I don't shoot .45 much anymore due to the cost of .45 being so much more than 9MM and I have plenty of 9MM pistols already.

Can you easily change the HK P30 from DA/SA to LEM?? I would like the option to have the possibility of both if I do get an HK pistol but I have only seen the conversion kit for USP and HK45/45C.

I honestly have no idea myself. Maybe someone else will chime in with an answer for you.

You can but it’s not super easy, takes time but most can do it with a video. It’s not cheap, I looked into it and it was over $100 for parts, some of which can dry up for a while. Then you have the option of a hole where decocker was or you can keep decocker but need to buy another part. HK does not authorize it and won’t do the work. It voids your warranty.

You did it again huh(?), LOL!!

I have one of the standard length P30's chambered in the once heralded and now disparaged .40S&W chambering, and the first thing I did was score a .357sig conversion barrel for it from Rim Country Manufacturing out in Arizona. They make pure quality HK parts and numerous conversion barrels for the HK's and other manufacturer's firearms.

Anyway, it's a darn nice pistol, and it shoots like a 'sumbitch in either caliber thanks to it's great ergos, which I feel are due to the different sized rear AND side grip panels that's part of it's frame design features, features that've got Glock beat by miles IMHO. I hope you enjoy it!

Congrats.. I have a P30 Lite LEM..very accurate gun and great trigger...check out HKPro for any mod or tips.. I believe you can update the sear spring and hammer spring to the nickel plated ones from HK to get the trigger close to Match grade..
